linkThese are all very good choices, and are far better actresses than Amber Heard by an Earth to Moon length.

Meh. I don't like Heard, but I can't get excited about any of these actresses either.
Part of me wishes they'd just write the character out, but I also don't know a lot about Aquaman. I imagine Mera is pretty vital to his story?

Teresa Palmer would be ideal if it ever came to that. They look shockingly similar.

They should just get robots to play every character in every movie and TV show from now on. Robots can’t get caught up in scandals.

Blake Lively or Leighton Meester could. I can't tell any of these chicks apart anyway.

I’d argue that would be less distracting than having the character suddenly look different.

Distracting? I'm use to multiple James Bonds and Batmans and Spider-mans and Supermans and such. At this point its all about the character and not the actors playing them (unless the actor sucks). I guess I'm used to different artists on comic books making the character look the same, but different.
So I say no to killing off a character just because the actor screwed up in real life. Keep it going. If you kill off a character because of the actor then the actor wins. It shows that the actor is more important than the character. Gotta teach these actors that they are expendable.

In this case, they’d be casting a different actress to play the same version of the same character. That would just be distracting. Stuff like that was commonplace back in the day, but we live in an age where continuity is given a lot of priority in movies and television.

Same Rhodey.
Same Rachel.
And it hurt no one...

All characters with names starting with R. It’s a reach to call TDK and IM2 “recent”. As for Red Skull, the guy wears a prosthetic mask that completely obscures the actor’s face, so recasting him is inherently less noticeable. The bottom line is that I can’t imagine the MCU recasting, say, Pepper Potts at this point.

If they wanted to do something with Morgan, but Paltrow didn't want to return, they'd most likely recast. And, yes, 12 years is recent. Especially when it comes to movies.

The MCU had barely even gotten off the ground by that point. Hell, to give a slighter more recent example, when Megan Fox was fired from the Transformers movies, rather recasting her character, they wrote out her out altogether, and gave Shia LaBeouf’s character a new love interest.

You mean they brought in an actual Transformers character named Carly?
Mother of his child?
And Mera was in a movie and a scene. A couple years ago. The character has barely gotten off the ground by this point.
