Finally, some good news. Taika Waititi will direct a new “Star Wars” movie for theatrical release, which he’s co-writing with “1917” scribe Krysty Wilson-Cairns, Disney and Lucasfilm announced on Monday.

Psycho Waititi sucks. The Fandom Menace will dispose of him the way we disposed of Retard Johnsonless.

Right on cue.
In a post-Gamergate age, intense fandom has poisoned the well.

I thought there was going to be a long break before another Star Wars film comes out theatrically. If they haven't got a script yet they could be years away from even starting production, then add another 12-18 months for production and post production, could be we don't see a movie for 3-5 years easy, I mean look at The Batman it took 2 years for what his name to even start casting actors for the movie, it's going to be like 4 years almost from when he took the job till the movie came out, 4 years is a long break between SW films current considering that we just got 5 in a 4 year period.

True. And it's just one film for now, they didn't give away everything just yet.

They will rush it. They may want to, doesn't mean they will be able to, Taika could take his time, if so and they want rid of him then they will have to find a new director, possibly new story, also depends on who they want for the film, all studios want to get their films out asap, but they cannot always do it, depends on just how much they can push around their talent, and I don't think Taika is going to be someone they push too much around, he's already doing Love & Thunder, which means that will take up most of his attention until release, which wont be until another 2 years almost, then still requires even if he starts his SW film the week after Thor 4 it'll need 12-18 months easy to film and put through post production, so we are looking at early to late 2023, so 3 1/2-4 years after TROS still.
Also think about how many big movies are going to be getting moved around for the next 2 years or so due to the pandemic, this is going to force any new SW film to take a little more time than Kathleen Kennedy was willing to give the other films to be done right.

Nobody Hates " STAR WARS" more than " STAR WARS" Fans. How many times you gonna spout the same bullshit?
Yes this is true, it's true for ALL fandoms you clubfooted wombat, no one is more critical than the fans, who scrutinises the management choices of a team more the teams fans or the opposing teams fans? So stop using such a stupid and meaningless phrase for Christ sake.

Yep, they'll slap together some bad fanfiction script, cram in forced diversity characters and start filming, again. You do have a point about forced diversity. Take the prequels for example. Samuel l Jackson was probably chosen either because he was a good actor, or he could fill the role he was playing in the prequels. Compare that to how they've chosen actors in the new.
