About making a good game, just a product and it shows or so it seemed like it. DK 64? Conker's bad fur day. Mystic quest. Mass effect 3 so I've heard. I haven't played it. I don't know, any Atari jaguar game most likely also.

I wouldnt say Mass Effect 3. Sure the ending was a let down for many. The developers even changed it a bit with a patch, that alone shows that they care. And then they produced the best game DLC I have ever played.

Super Mario Bros. 2
Yeah, I've seen video clips of Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic (1987)...
It's the same game.
A good "Super Mario Bros." game? Who cares!
We'll just change a few graphics, Slap on the "Mario Bros." name...and it will sell!
We'll make millions!
Fortunately, the core game, wasn't bad... but still... It wasn't as good as the First.
Thank Goodness we didn't have to wait too long for "Super Mario Bros. 3"

Why Conker's Bad Fur Day? That's a weird example.
How about the Last Starfighter for NES where they just slapped the movie license on an unrelated bad port of a Commodore 64 shooter called Uridium?
Whoever ported NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to PC cared so little that they didn't even play test. There is a literally impossible jump early on in the game.
Quick cash grabs based on popular licenses are really common.

Quick cash grabs based on popular licenses are really common. Yeah, I was thinking that a lot of games from times when "movie license" often meant "platformer" should be in this thread. Ocean Software and their reputation come to mind. Their Batman: The Movie for PC, while quite original in concept, was reported to be practically speaking unplayable. Many of their platformers were well behind their times.

I tend to see most games fall into that category simply because only a small amount are of any real worth.
but one I think was decent early on but pretty much turned into the same ol' crap release after released but the reviewers still overpraise is... COD (Call of Duty) series.

I tend to think it's the Publishers that don't care, these companies are run by bean counters who don't care about the games and just want games released to make money.
