Having watched some of the recent Korean baseball, I gotta say that sports without fans just isn't the same. I've been to high school baseball games with like 15 people watching, and in person it's fine, but on television you really need the energy of the crowd to make it fun. Things will start opening up again slowly but surely over time, but let's face it, we are still a long way from crowded stadiums and arenas. It sucks, but eventually it will come back. I don't want televised sports without fans, and I'm willing to wait for a year or two until it happens.
Your experience about high school baseball games struck a chord with me. That's what I found with regards to Junior B hockey games.
For the uninitiated, Junior B is one step below the junior league that I follow - the Ontario Hockey League.
When I would go to a game, I think I'm probably the only one who actually paid for a ticket. The rest of the crowd are parents and friends, who likely got their tickets on comps from the players.
The only one in the OP's post that I will comment on is the NHL.
Even if players are allowed back in training camps, they will need at least 3 weeks to condition and get in game shape. This was as per Gary Bettman - the commissioner.
My response?
Just cancel the rest of the season and the playoffs already.
That's what the Canadian Hockey League did with the playoffs of the respective leagues (Quebec, Ontario, Western) and the Memorial Cup.
The commissioner of the Quebec league said it wouldn't be until early 2021 when the Q gets going again. The president of the 3 leagues, who is also the commissioner of the Ontario League, was aware of what the commission of the Q said. The president is still optimistic that the Ontario league will open up as normal to start the 2020-2021 season. Training camps start in the last week of August.
I think that's a little ambitious. I think it's still WAY too early to start opening things back up. It could take one spike in the number of new cases, and we'll have to start all over again.

For some reason I thought you were in Quebec, which I would assume you'd follow the Q.

Listened to Bill Simmons latest pod. NBA is practically a no-go. Apparently there's some owners who still want fans in the buildings. lols There's no magic contingency plan, they still want 7 game playoff series... f'n idiots. As Bill & Ryen asked, wtf were these guys doing the past 2 months??
Silver won't pull the trigger in case one person gets infected & looks like Trump rushed him. There's truth to that a bit I guess. If the NBA needs hundreds of tests every 24hrs, it's not a great look. If they set everything up for Disney World &/or Vegas... all the new infrastructure & media stuff... & then 1 person tests positive, it's all a f'n waste.
So yeah... NBA Jam Tournament Edition continues in this house!

Baseball insider Steve Phillips gives the odds of MLB returning around 20% now that the players have started back up the money train bullshit.
During a pandemic. Cancelled season? How's about cancelled sport. The scorched earth of 2020, & the players still feel the need to play financial hardball.
I predict the only sports to return are PGA, NASCAR, MLS (for a while at least), & NFL I'll say they cut September 4 weeks & start in October because Trumpified summer deaths.

Bundesliga playing this wkend. If anyone tests positive, the league is not stopping. A big issue is that anyone anywhere involved tests positive will not be publicly announced?
North American bigwigs keeping an eye on things like a hawk.
Blue Jays probably playing 2020 at Tropicana Field, & possibly a bunch of teams doing the same. Easier, & more reliable, tv production in the dome.

I did - for a little bit. Ever since I went to my first (and so far, only) QMJHL game, I was a big Drummondville Voltigeurs fan. My interest in that league has waned.

NHL 24 team playoffs. Details still in the works. They were talking about this yesterday. Top 4 in each conference get a bye into the quarterfinal round and the next 8 play a best of 5 pre-quarter round. I would think a best of 3 would be better which is what the NHL wants but the players in the higher seeds are afraid that a lower seed's goalie could get hot and steal a 3 game series. I say too bad. #1 Tampa got swept last year so who's to say a 12 can't sweep a 5 whether it's in 2, 3 or even 4 games?
I was hoping for a progressing one and done style tournament with every team not officially eliminated from the playoffs pre-shutdown (i.e. everyone but Detroit) participating, starting at the bottom with 15 at 14, winner at 13, winner at 12, etc., until it's winner at 8 in a best of 3, then have the playoffs like normal. This'll give us some sports day to day while minimizing the total number of teams coming into contact with each other. The NBA could do the same thing with the 2 leagues taking turns playing games one day and the next.
