God, that shot of Apocalypse/En Sabah Nur summoning his immense power, with grey clouds behind him... that was truly incredible.
Oscar Isaac deserved an Oscar for his top notch performance. His Apocalypse was just powerful and frightening.
I'm glad that the movie was such a tremendous success. It's a masterpiece.

Well, he certainly tried and whatever shortcomings the character had wasn't his fault.

Apocalypse sucked. His look was so wrong. He belonged in Star Trek

In the trailer, I will admit it look intimidating. But in the actual movie, it wasn't. It seemed almost as if they changed his voice for that scene.

What did Apocalypse want and why?

What did Apocalypse want and why? In the movieverse: Apocalypse wanted to rule upon Earth, and he "disguised" his real megalomaniac intentions under a FAKE "reaffirmation" of the mutant supremacy.

The entire movie was mediocre IMO. As for the movie's "tremendous success". The critical response was decidedly mixed; 47% positive on Rottentomatoes. It was a box office success but as superhero tent poles go it was nothing special; Budget of $178 million and world wide box office of $544 million.
For comparison; Wonder Woman Budget $149 million and world wide box office $822 million.

A general rule of thumb if you have to use tv, rentals, and dvd sales as evidence of a movie's success it wasn't one.

Talk about major denial and X-Men withdrawal because the MCU has now acquired the rights.

That's just the icing on the cake. BUDGET: $178,000,000 BOX OFFICE: $542,537,546That already shows it wasn't a tremendous success. Nevermind that it dropped over $200 million from the previous movie. It was the least successful X-Men movie at the time in the US. It underperformed as it was expected to make $100 million in its first 4 days but instead only did $80 million. Then in a series that was already very front loaded to begin with, Apocalypse was far more front loaded still meaning it didn't even finish with double it's opening weekend. In fact it was nowhere to be seen in Deadlines Top 20 most profitable movies of the year where the #20 movie had a profit of $52 million. It wasn't even mentioned with the three honourable mentions either where the lowest was $37 million. Then of course people didn't much care for it at all, leading to poor reviews and so so audience reception which then meant that nobody really gave much of a shit about Dark Phoenix from the beginning.

Wait a sec, that was Oscar Isaac? I didn’t even realize that was him.
Anyways, he was alright, but rather forgettable. Just like the film itself.

Must be nice living in that paralel universe that you live in. The one where this crap is actually a great movie, Oscar Isacs deserves an Oscar and the movie is a tremendous success
