Yeah, I know, this is a bit of a stretch, because this CLASSIC film isn't about the Mom... But, I still think it's very cool, and it at least deserves an "honorary" mention... Ginger Rogers' mother, Lela Rogers, had the unique privilege of being able to star in one of her daughter's films, "The Major And The Minor" (1942)... And actually played Susan Applegate's (Ginger) mother: Mrs. Applegate! Susan even pretended to be her mother, and dressed up just like her.

Can a movie from 1996, be considered a "CLASSIC"?
Anyway, it's still one of my favorites...

Can a movie from 1996, be considered a "CLASSIC"? Anyway, it's still one of my favorites... There were a couple recent movies also called Mother. Both were dark movies.
One is a Korean movie by the recent Oscar Best Director winner Bong Joon Ho: Mother (2009)

FEDORA may be the saddest cinematic mother in FEMALE TROUBLE Taffy (Mink Stole) played a daughter to test the patience of the most tender, loving mother.... which she certainly didn't have
