The show ended in disaster a year ago. I'm still hard pressed to say much good about it all but at least it came to a natural conclusion with the true villains openly villaining …

I still feel robbed of the match that was promised …

The "match that was promised"? It seems most promises the story made were meant to be disappointments. "Ned Stark, Protector of the Realm", "Robb King in the North", "Stannis the Rightful King", "Aemon Targaryen, legitimate heir"… everything that was presented as a straighforward solution went badly or not at all. Only forebodings of disasters, like "Daenerys the Last Dragon" came true. I guess the secundary hopes went the same way: Jon and Sansa, Jaime and Brienne, Arya and Gendry, the Hound finding peace, "Good Queen Margaery"… Maybe the exception to all this is Tyrion's fate: Hand of the King as almost everyone wanted. I just hope he's so buried in work he has no time left for wine or whores

I just hope he's so buried in work he has no time left for wine or whores I'm interested in one match that was promised and good old George better fix it in the books! I can tell you a scenario without jonsa in it that would have made the ending so much better ... or more accepted especially by dany fans I'm so sick and tired hearing them whine for a year ,how jon killing dany made no sense and that danys turn to darkness was abrupt ,...…. wouldn't it make more sense when dany start burning everyone from the sky for arya to be killed? since she was in so much danger, running for her life , trying to escape the fall of kings landing she ended up really dead? this is how the episode had ended and that white horse in the end symbolized death … jon /tyrion take a walk and jon finds aryas burned body ...jon loved his family and that would have given him a good reason to take out dany without tyrion trying to convince him ,with that stupid silly talk , trying to convince a grown man who has battled white walkers dead zombies to take out dany. seriously? and im sorry to arya fans could have been any of the starks but it just didn't make sense to me arya survived the way she did and her sailing off to find westeros or whats beyond westeros ...I would just ask my brother ,,,bran whats out there? nothing made sense .Dany was the only thing from the beginning that was predictable.

I can agree that season 8 was a big disappointment, but its far from the worst thing ever as some people claim.

Daenerys fans were too dumb to see or accept anything. The whole story was designed to rub their faces in their own stupidity, so that part was fine. Yes, Arya dying in the slaughter would have been a perfect situation. Have the Hound killed by the crumbling castle too instead of pandering to idiots with the stupid Cleganebowl. Same overall meaning, people going head first into war situations get randomly killed before they get closure. It would have been realistic, life is not a story. Then add that other fine tuning shock: have Tyrion turn on Daenerys and Varys betray him. Tyrion burns and the Spider survives, becoming Hand of the King of the Ashes in the end, driving the point home that his line about Littlefinger was mere manipulation. Jon could still have had a similar conversation with Varys after the slaughter but not in a cell. More something like his moment with Arya and not one lecturing the other but only finding out they agree so viewers can see the change in Jon's mind, the same way he changed his mind about the wildlings earlier in the series. Now that would have sent waves. Tyrion and Arya dead too…

I wouldn't say its far from the worst thing they are more awful shows on air but the show didn't live up to earlier seasons … and all because the writers suddenly got bored and decided to finish it quickly

The spoilers about tyrion being executed would have made a more compelling story than him betraying varys ...and betrayed him for what? in the end he betrayed his "queen" too ...I thought both jon and tyrion standing there while dany burned varys was absurd

I still feel robbed of the match that was promised … You realise that Jon and Sansa are cousins who were raised as brother and sister, right?

For my part, the only coupling I really supported was that between Cersei and the Iron Throne, although Tyrion and Drogon's stomach was another one I was hoping for.

For this show its not weird at all ...we are talking game of thrones not little house on the prairie ,plus this is how the author writes , he made couples out of family relatives , for me is not weird because he had jon paired with his aunt and it was a disaster in so many levels due to lack of chemistry ,and story telling. since they hinted it on the show like over 10000000 xxxxxxx times over there was something there with jon/sansa and playing off scenes in similar romantic way they did with other couples setting up scenes to mirror, jamie/cersei or rob/Talisa and then tried with dany it would have made more sense to hook up jon and sansa instead of leaving un answered questions and filming scenes that even left actors confused , even D&D said in comic con they thought of it ….honestly? I think George martin will do it in the books ...this is will be one the main reasons jon will kill dany and if they had the guts to do it on the show maybe the ending would have made more sense, you know sometimes we don't choose who we love it just happens, jonsa reunion was one of the best on the show ...nothing compared to it .

Yes it is weird. ITs the reason in the books and the show that Cersei and Jamie keep their relationship secret and why Jamie attempted to kill Bran. Tyrion points out Jon and Danny would be a tough sell for The North being that they are related. I think you imagined the Jon and Sansa romantic hints, tbh and I'm not sure what questions you think are left unanswered by Jon and Sansa not getting it on? In the books, Jon is dead and isn't banging his aunt and nothing we have seen from JOn and Sansa suggests a romance.

In the books, Jon is dead and isn't banging his aunt… Do not believe that the books will resolve any differently than the show. Things will make more sense but the main events and final destinations will be the same. Jon and Daenerys will get together, she'll go over the top, he'll kill her, be exiled and the fat fantasy wanker will put his stupid "all knowing" kid on the throne.

If the books get completed I'd be amazed. Its been 9 years since A Dance with Dragons......and that took 6 years to write...In 20 years he has completed 2 books in this series...and he is nearly 72.

In the books, Jon is dead and isn't banging his aunt and nothing we have seen from JOn and Sansa suggests a romance. I posted about it many times on this board why I think what I do with proof to back up my claims the only ones who say eww or weird are dany fans or the sansa haters . do you honestly think jon is going to remain dead in the books? HE WILL NOT - NO .we all know what happens maybe it will be written different in the book but he will be back….and sansa and jon will be the first starks to reunite after sansa escapes from LF and that guy LF is setting her up , on the show ramsey took his place. ( harry ) pretty much GRMM confirmed it too ... sansa will have a very controversial chapter in the new upcoming book . Jon and sansa never interacted in books or show that was done for a reason. fans picked up on this many many years go way before there was even any reunion between them and a lot of those articles I read by many GOT writers made sense after the reunion on the show people talked about it more
