Jesus. Just put it on streaming and let it die already.

The saga of the multiple failed release dates for this film is one for the ages.
It may yet still end up on streaming. I think Disney just calendared it to throw theater owners a bone.

I see no chance in hell that movie theaters will be back to full capacity by August 28th. I think that some will, other's still closed, and some with a cap on the amount of people in it. I say we see another push back, if it get's released in movie theaters at all.
I saw this pop up on FB and I wasn't disappointed when I saw the comments. People bringing jokes. Well half were jokes other half just begging for it to be put online/sold in stores.

Marc Benarden brought up a great point about if they do release it on August 28th. With all the shuffling it's kinda obvious the studios (fox and disney) had some questions about it. Now that Disney has it if they really don't have faith in it they can sacrifice the movie to the Covid Pandemic. If it does bomb/underperform they can use the excuse of well the pandemic caused it to fail. Also by doing it Disney get's info on when they should release other movies. If it bombs horribly they can be confident in holding off or pushing other movies. If it underperforms by a little then keeping the current pushed movies the where they are would suffice. If it does ok maybe think about releasing something earlier than the pushed back date. If it performs good definitely move something up. Basically they can use New Mutants as a canary.

The movie won't make money anyway. It should have released on Disney Plus last year.

The date is terrible; there's no getting around that. I think Disney is also trying to get on the right side of any potential exhibitor/studio conflict. If they put out New Mutants in theaters and it bombs because people are still too frightened of contracting COVID, they can tell NATO, "See? We tried?"

From what I've heard, Disney is contractually obligated to release New Mutants (as well as the other Fox properties they acquired) in theaters.

Fifth time’s the charm... Finally. they should just release the darm thing. I want to see a horror marvel drama before DC. this could help marvel reputation from its childish joke reputation. streaming or cinema, i still think this movie could be among xmen best films. up there with Logan and Days of Future Past. it makes sense for the mcu fans to panic

MCU fans aren't seem to be panicking. What are you even talking about? He's just projecting his own panic. This is the final nail in the Fox-Men coffin and he still hasn't fully realized it. if i was panicing then why would i want the film to be released? mcu fans are in panic. reason they are calling it a final nail when the film is not out? that is fear. if new mutants is excellent, it will hurt dr strange 2 and destroy mcu xmen before any release since we know disney has officially rejected dr strange as a horror film and new mutants dares to be horror. so in logic. you mcu fans are panicking.if new mutants turns out great, how would you explain a childish comedy horror film with dr strange 2 or childish mcu xmen? Do you remember fat thor? once ywe brought up Xavier depression in DOFP and how it was handled far better. fat thor was buried since dofp showed how to handle depression in a more common adult way. the same may happen for the horror angle with new mutants and the disney mcu horror parody.
