Angela Lansbury says everyone behaved with great professionalism in a cramped space. She is notorious for putting a good face on things, not letting the cat out of the bag on anyone. I'd like to believe they all behaved well, but golly, what huge personalities to cram into a tight space with equatorial heat and humidity. The costumes were very elaborate, and they rode donkeys, danced, climbed pyramids.

'All About Eve' is a tour-de-force of acting.
It is a supreme achievement of the force of a great actress at the peak of her prowess.
If you ever get the chance watch the pre-code 'Three on a Match' (1932) with a very young and fresh looking Betty Davis also featuring a baby Joan Blondell, Ann Dvorak, and Lyle Talbot, pay very close attention to the opening dance scenes, you will see nothing like it again in a 30's movie.
The Film is a gem of a time capsule of what the culture was really like before the censors stepped in and tried to remake the 1930's into their celluloid vision.

Spider, remember those dreadful TV programs she was in towards the end of her career, where she wore this long wig, and was on a motorcycle? I don't remember what it was, so it broke my heart because she's such a class act, and those gigs were so beneath her, and totally did not match. That was actually a real movie called "Bunny O'Hare," and she co-starred with Ernest Borgnine. It was released in 1971, I believe.

Definitely a Bette fan. And let's be honest, "It's going to be a bumpy night" is one of the best lines ever delivered. I have All About Eve on tape and love it. Brilliant movie. Elizabeth of Essex was also very good. Have you seen the previews for The Feud about Bette and Joan Crawford? I think they miscast Susan Sarandon as Bette, but we'll see how it goes! I'm a massive vintage movie silver screen fan here! I rarely watch "new" movies, but boy oh boy can I go on and on with the classics!

Well, like most have stated, I'm unsure how to respond to posts as well. Nice to see so many excellent posts on favorite films of hers. Bette made 101 films. I've managed to collect all but one. That elusive "Seed" from 1931. I may be odd but I tend to divide her career by decade and have favorites I focus on from each one. I mean, tastes change, film style changes and even the person changes.

I have a hard time thinking of a Bette Davis film I don't like! The first film I remember her in was Burnt Offerings. I think it stuck with me because I was a little kid and the film scared me. I remember watching her in Now Voyager later that same year and my Mom told me that was the same actress and I didn't believe her!

My all-time favorite film of hers was The Little Foxes. She was brilliant, and the film was beautifully done! Understated evil!

She was so sassy, and truly loved acting so much that it's no wonder she still has so many fans. Watching Feud, she is seen feeling upset and saddened on several occasions, not something she would allow her fans see. She would have just made some snarky comment to cover it up, which only makes you love her more! To her, you never disappointed an audience, that was the worst sin for a talent like her.

I am a very big fan of the films of Bette Davis. She is one of the few actresses I can remember seeing in films when I was a kid. My parents gave me the book about her films when I had my tonsils out in 1970 and in 1978, I attended her one-woman show and even asked her a question.
My favorites are: Dark Victory Now Voyager All About Eve
Not a big fan of "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" But that is the first film I remember seeing her in.
