Brad Jones' summation: "An unholy fucking disaster". Yikes, it didn't seem that bad though I can't say I was really looking forward to it.

What is the genre of this movie -- is it an action movie? Or a drama?
It seems like interesting historical fiction -- which could have its own following.
In the past there have been quite a few movies that focused on King Arthur ( Knights of the Round Table and Camelot were prominent) and I also remember a more recent movie with Clive Owen and Keira Knightley called King Arthur ... There were also some TV series ( such as Merlin, where Arthur was a prince and young king). The original literary work ( Idylls of the Kings by Alfred Tennyson) seems to be the basis of some of the legends...but other stories may have evolved.

It was supposed to be this high fantasy action/adventure type of story based off the trailer.

That's to bad, I normally like Ritchie's work, U.N.C.L.E while a flop was one of 2015's best.

I remember when they said they wanted this movie to launch a six movie series but there's no way it will happen if it is as bad as they say it was. Seriously, did Warner Brothers ever really know how to keep a film franchise going? Were Harry Potter and the Dark Knight movies flukes?

The film honestly never looked interesting to begin with. It apparently being bad isn't that big of a surprise.
