Watched it last night. Loved it! Based on 1 episode I have hope that this will be the show that "Supergirl" should have been.

Thank you for reminding me. I just bought the season on Amazon. It was $30 which is a bit steep, but I've been pretty excited for this show.

I watched the first episode. It was good! One thing about these DC Universe shows...they know how to cast. Of them all Starfire is the only miscast in my opinion. Everyone else has been on point and this show seems no different. I mean this girl looks like she was born for this role.

I've been a big fan of Brec Bassinger since she starred in "Bella and the Bulldogs" on Nickelodeon. I knew it was perfect casting as soon as I heard she was going to be Stargirl.

Yeah, they've been pretty much perfect in most of their casting decision so far.

Yes Brec Bassinger was really good. The casting of the show seems to be very good.

Second episode was also very good I watched it last night. I liked it a lot. So far I really like the way they are handling this show. Sort of a slow build up without rushing things too much and without over-stuffing it from the get go.

I was kind of reluctant; the Arrowverse shows have worn me down. I starting to think about it recently, then when I found out Joel McHale played Starmam I figured, what the hell.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this show; I like what I've seen so far, but it's stille early.
I am impressed that they went with a lead who's actually the age the character is supposed to be; most of the time they'd cast some in their mid 20s to play a high school student. There's a certainly authenticity with her being an actual teenager that I think adds to the character; and it'll make it interesting to see what her character arc will be like. I've often wondered how different, say, Buffy the Vampire Slayer would have been had more of the actors had been closer to their characters age. Of all the teen cast, SMG was probably the closest playing Buffy at 16 when she was 18 or 19. But I've always felt that the likes of Nicholas Brendon or Chrisma Carpenter, or even Alyson Hannigan all started looking their age as the show(s) went on; which can arguably change the context of the stories they're playing or how you might expect their character to behave.

As i understand it its not part of the Arrowverse at least not directly. If you are talking about Brec Bassinger she is 21 i think she was 18 when she started shooting. So she is not 16 in real life.

True. Also, SMG was 20 when Buffy started. I concede I was mistaken about how old Brec was; not sure where I got the impression she was 16. However, for whatever it's worth, Buffy premiered in March of 1997, and SMG's birthday is in April; so she was 19 when filming at least part if not most of season 1 (which was a shorter season), with the aired pilot shot in September of 1996 (and according to Wikipedia, she was 18 when the initially casting started).

I like that they're not going dark and grounded. It's lighter and more fun than a show like Titans. I love Titans but this is just a nice change of pace.
