It has been 34 years since The Fly '86. Would you watch a Fly remake if they made one? Do you want a Fly remake?

I adore both the 1958 version (my favourite 50s horror, in fact) and the 1986 version (Cronenberg's finest moment), but have absolutely no desire to see them do a remake. Too many things could go wrong and it would be some feat to match the calibre of those earlier films.

How about Hollywood get over this obsession with remakes and work on something original.

A part of me would like to see someone try to recapture that raw emotion, but you're probably right. The chances of them doing it right would probably be slim.

This is one of those times where the VFX would look worse. The practical effects in the Cronenberg version still hold up. A CGI transformation would look like shit.

Disgusting film and the coronavirus of gag reflexes worldwide and no it shouldn't be remade.

If there's a good take on it that makes it slightly different, sure go for it.

There’s a remake in the works from the director of Sleight. Sleight was pretty enjoyable, but don’t think he’s right to take it on. Would rather see Leigh Whannell do it. I think the director released some concept art for his remake and I must say they were pretty disturbing. Edit: No wait I take it back it was the concept art for the first remake still disturbing though. www.syfy.com/syfywire/images-of-the-day-brundlefly-concept-art-as-the-fly-remake-ramps-up

It has been 34 years since The Fly '86. Would you watch a Fly remake if they made one? Do you want a Fly remake? I would love to see something similar to King Kong (2005) set in 1958, but using dramatic story points from 1986.

There's an emotional intensity to it that's rare for horror films of the 50s. Also - did you notice the reference to flat-screen TV? In a movie from 1958!

My reaction if someone tried taking me to a Fly remake: "Help me, help me!"

Is it time for a remake? No. Would I watch one? No. Do I want a remake? No.

Is it time for a remake? No. Would I watch one? No. Do I want a remake? No. But would you watch it if someone tied you to a chair, set you in front of the movie, and held your eyelids open with toothpicks?
