lives with '13 or 14 lions and tigers'... after having dozens of the big cats years earlier
I didn't know she was Tippi's granddaughter and her mother was her daughter. But this story about having big cats in Tippi's home is insane! I'm googling images and there's one with 11 lionesses and a tiger and another with Tippi, her husband, and 3 full grown tigers in their bedroom.

I love the big cats, especially tigers, but nope,..not running loose in my home! I didn't know Tippy Hedrin was Melanie Griffin's mom!!

I once knew about all those relationships, but had forgotten that Dakota had carried on the line. Thanks for the reminder. Her father is Don Johnson (Crockett in the 1980s TV series Miami Vice and had a bit of a comeback with a major role in Knives Out).

I saw the documentary about that. Plus the movie they did called ROAR (1981).

I saw the documentary about that. Plus the movie they did called ROAR (1981). Was "Roar" any good? I believe many crew members were injured by the cats during the making of the movie. Maybe Melanie was hurt also?

Maybe Melanie was hurt also? Oh, I should had elaborated. I hadn't seen the movie ROAR but the documentary discussed it in relation to their big cats.

OT but ...
People forget that even homegrown wild animals are still instinctively wild animals and then they are surprised when they, or a visitor, get hurt and then the animal gets the "blame".
