On a Scale from 1 to 10, 10 being Excellent.....How would you yourself Rate Bill Paxton's Acting Performance in the Movie "ALIENS" ?

10/10. He does steal the show, which may not be the best acting, but I can't help but love the show. Of course, no one ever mistook him for a man.
Acting? I think so, but he had a great role to work with. It would only be natural to "fall apart" in such a situation, even for a Marine. The screenplay showed the Marines being very human.
So, it's really a rating of him "doing his job" on a part that was excellently written. But "he did his job".

Paxton had personality plus, but was it really a performance. It was a projected smart ass charisma. He has done better acting roles like in A Simple Plan.

I love the film but rate his performance? 5/10. He does what he has to do but there’s not much acting required.

Of course he is acting. Surely he wasn't a loud mouth like Hudson in real life. He is an actor who had to create and project Hudson's wise ass character and he does it very well.
