When I was young she said I Was a Spy and I walked those steps, all 39, or Die She told Me she was a secret agent then But her father, the General died again. But all was well since they were secure By Lloyds of London, nothing else would be a cure. On the Avenue where she walked She mentioned a prisoner in Zenda as she talked During the Blockade she was in pain Yelling My son My son to no vain. A friend said She was a Favorite Blonde At the seaside I admit my imagination was far beyond.
Buried in the trash above is titles, by the lovely, and yet forgotten Madelaine Carroll

Okay, gang. Listen up. Since we've had two really interesting and excellent poems here that do not meet the criteria of the thread, I hereby abandon that criteria for anyone who wants to approach things differently. The idea of the thread in essence was film titles as poems. So I don't see why I have to stick to the four-line stanza format for those who prefer something else. Please feel free to create whatever format you wish, and for those who want to stick with the four-line stanza, that's great, too. I'm more interested in the poetry than the format. So enjoy yourselves! I wrote these just before the rule change:
She Stoops to Conquer The Magnificent Seven. She's Having a Baby. Leave Her to Heaven.
Marriage on the Rocks The Seven Year Itch. My Foolish Heart I Married a Witch.

mcavanaugh , another fine one! And don't feel you have to change - only if you want. Personally, I'm sticking with the four-line stanza. Anyway, this one (whether you meant to or not) actually made me laugh. For me, today, that's a good thing! I'm glad it made you laugh, Spider. Since you said we can use free verse forms, I thought I'd try something different. This one isn't meant to be funny, but it all comes from movie titles.
Michael Collins O Brother, Where Art Thou? Broken Rebel Heart. Fifty Dead Men Walking In the Name Of the Father. There Will Be Blood For Ireland's Sake.
The Wind That Shakes the Barley. A Prayer For the Dying. Blood and Bone. Ourselves Alone.
Bobby Sands 66 Days Hunger Some Mother's Son Dying Young.
