The last one I took at the beginning of March with my mom and sister to SoCal to visit family We stayed at a hotel that was in the same lot as a shopping mall ~ fun! It's a great time of year to go there, I love it there Lucky you went nan! I don't know when I will see my daughter in Florida. Who wants to be on a plane now!? Scary

I guess the most touristy of places in Southern Bavaria what was so interesting there? Beer? Women? Nature? Or was it the companionship on that trip that made it the best? Oh most definitely das bier und frauleins! My 4 year old self would've immensely enjoyed that!
That's how long I have had an actual "real" vacation.

I guess Japan. I’ve always been fascinated by the country, and after two 24-hour layovers in Tokyo I was itching for an opportunity to spend more time there and visit more of the country. I was ready to go and had the tickets bought and the whole itinerary planned when the tsunami hit. I figured it wouldn’t be the best time to go, so I cancelled. A few years later everything came together again and I finally did it. About two weeks visiting Tokyo, Kamakura, Nikko, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Himeji, Hiroshima and Miyajima. It was a great trip. I would love to go again but with so many other places to visit (that are new to me) I am not sure I ever will.

Egypt. Rode around the pyramids, saw Tutankhamen's treasure. Visited Saladin's citadel. I loved it. I've been twice. I was there some 36 years ago. There's a funny pic of me riding a camel behind one of the guys. Look on my face says this camel ride is weird & kind of bumpy. And I still have a couple of those bracelets the little kids would sell-$1, $1

whats stopping u from taking one? Time, money, life. Although technically I have gone cross country more than once coast to coast by visiting the Grand Canyon, Hwy 101, etc along the way (not work related) but I don't consider them real vacations.

Well I hope you manage to take one soon again. There is so much to see, especially here in the US, you dont even need to travel that far. Best of luck in finding the time and money soon.

1984 - our family went to England. My father's family is from there, and we visited all of his relatives.
Sadly, because it was when I was 9 years old, I don't remember most of it. I do remember going to Blackpool, and going to the North Pier.
As for souvenirs, I still have a few one off comic books of The Beano. Doubt they're worth anything because they were read quite a bit. So, they are a bit worn.
1991 - family went for a week long journey that took us thru Chicago, Cleveland, Erie and Niagara Falls. Saw the Blue Jays and White Sox in one game that night. The next afternoon, we saw the Reds and Cubs play. On the Friday, we travelled from Chicago to Cleveland. The Saturday - we saw the Mariners and the Indians play. This was when the Indians played at Cleveland Stadium - where the Browns play now.
