Thanks for sharing that trailer. I encourage all fans of Star Trek to join us at the IMDB v2.1 Movie Quotes board, where we have "trekked" over 180 movies to date. Instructions and a list of the movies with quote threads can be found in the sticky thread at the top of the board. Hope to see you there!

Yes, Star Trek had a lot of babes as guest stars. A lot of the same actresses also appeared on another favorite series of mine, The Wild Wild West.

It was like a company or troupe of actors that was recycled among show in that era. There was once a YouTube video showing the various actors on both shows. It was taken down by a copyright strike, but I still have a local copy and it listed, in order: - Antoinette Bower
- Sherry Jackson
- James Gregory
- Barbara Luna
- Michael Dunn
- Kathie Browne
- Ricardo Montalban
- Leslie Parrish
- William Schallert
- Susan Oliver
- William Windom
- Arlene Martel
- Mark Lenard
- Madlyn Rhue
- Yvonne Craig
- William Campbell
- Marj Dusay
- Jeff Corey
- Sabrina Scharf

I absolutely loved it when I first discovered it in re-runs in the early 80s, but today I can no longer watch an entire episode. It's too dated, most of the storylines are silly bordering on idiotic, and William Shatner's acting is atrocious.

The third season is where he goes off the rails but even then he has his moments.

Spock....Bones.......is...it...possible...........that...an alien.... of incredible power....has taken over the..... mind....of Jep Gambardella? Hehe. Hey, that's a pretty good impersonation. Even today he acknowledges how much he hammed it up back then. If you've ever seen Fanboys, despite it being a movie about a Star Wars fan, he makes a guest appearance as himself, and it's brilliant. I can still watch them today, and I know how schlocky it is, how camp, but that's part of the charm. A lot of these older, classic TV shows are campy, and some of us love them even more for how goofy they are. Look at how silly they are.

I just watched the episode with Lazarus who was a time traveler. He was hopping back and forth. In the end when they found out, Kirk had to destroy him and thus affect his universe.
At the end, Spock said, "But our universe is safe, Captain."
Kirk replies, " But what of....Lazarus....Mr. Spock?....What...of Lazarus...?"
And have you ever noticed how everyone wears the same shade of blue eyeshadow? If I recall, Samantha Stevens' mother wore the same shade.

Joan Collins is making a guest appearance in this one where she's running a homeless shelter.

Anytime I try to come up with a 'best of' list, that is always in the running for #1. Written by the late great Harlan Ellison.
There were a ton of talented SF writers in the first two seasons.

Spock....Bones.......is...it...possible...........that...an alien.... of incredible power....has taken over the..... mind....of Jep Gambardella? Under present conditions, I would say that it is not only possible, but extremely likely Captain. EDIT: Absolutely no offense intended to Jep Gambardella, who is certainly entitled to his opinions.

I agree. I consider "The City on the Edge of Forever" the best. Although my favorite is "The Doomsday Machine", written by another award-winning SF writer, Norman Spinrad.

At some point, maybe after my rewatch of “The Wild Wild West”, I simply must go back and rewatch TOS. I haven't seen it since I bought the DVDs, and it would certainly help me over on the Movie Quotes board.

I may spell this wrong, but I'm watching "Pon Phar" or something? It's the one where Spock has to return to Vulcan to mate.
