The Children Shall Lead
This one sucks. On the other hand, they did serve ice cream. And that one little fella even got three scoops!

The Empath
This was a very good episode. The empath goes through the entire show without uttering a word and yet using just her expressions, she conveys so much. This woman clearly was trained in classical ballet. She moves her body with such poise and elegance, from her hands down to her feet (maintaining first position, as it were, while she's walking, if that makes sense). She floats as she walks. One of the better episodes I've seen thus far that stands out. And to think it relied and nothing more than a simple stage.

Here is France Nuyen (Elaan) in an early film role:

Whom Gods DestroyThey actually did a very good job, especially if you consider when this came out, of making this look like Kirk fighting the fake Kirk. They didn't rely on keeping one's back always to the camera, but did a fair job of showing both faces every now and again without it looking like I could spot a double, or whatever they did then for special effects. I'll admit it. I was impressed. Edit --> In that photo above, you can clearly see which one is Kirk and the body double, but in the actual fighting scene, they did a good scene. Just to clarify, because that pic is really obvious it's two very, very different people! Got to watch the clip of them fighting to appreciate it. <- that looks obvious, but they really did a great job. lol

Here is France Nuyen (Elaan) in an early film role: Is she a rather famous actress? Should I feel silly for not recognizing her?

No, I did not. I'm already on season 3, and only 3 seasons are available to me. I'll try to pay attention to any specific lines of dialogue that stand out to me and I'll pair it with a movie. That's clever! haha

That's clever! haha Yes, that's a clever twist on the usual formula which is to pair movie quotes with Star Trek images. For example, start a quote thread for Jaws (1975) and then post this: "You're gonna need a bigger boat."

Uuuggghhhh. I was watching The Immunity Syndrome and had to skip to the next episode. They've done this before in at least one (maybe even two) episodes, but for an effect they emit this high-pitched frequency noise for an extended period of time which is being used as by some alien life form as a disarming method or to drive the crew nuts. But I can't handle high-pitched voices or noises in general as it is. It's like shrink-wrapping my brain or driving a screwdriver into my left ear through my skull. If it were for 1 second, mmmmaybe. But they go on, and on, and onnn. I found myself constantly grabbing the remote to turn the volume way down or off until I could see the actors stop grabbing their heads. /rant That's too bad... The Immunity Syndrome is one of the best episodes of the series.

The Way to Eden
Well this is interesting. Thus far, it's like a hippy sit-in protest.

At some point, maybe after my rewatch of βThe Wild Wild Westβ, I simply must go back and rewatch TOS. I haven't seen it since I bought the DVDs, and it would certainly help me over on the Movie Quotes board. You are under contract to watch all West before moving on to other things. π

Several outstanding episodes.
Whom Gods Destroy is a favorite.
I especially like the guest actor who played Garth.

I've been rewatching the series, and posting reviews that have gotten longer and more elaborate with each passing season. I'm currently on Season 3.

The Trouble With Tribbles!
This is the episode I've been waiting for. What's odd is that for some reason I thought it was our mischief maker Harry Mudd that was responsible for the Tribbles. (my bad). Spock: Most curious creature, Captain. Its trilling seems to have a tranquilizing effect on the human nervous system. Fortunately, of course, I am... immune to it's effect...
Capt. Kirk: Why, you're right, Mister Jones. They don't like Klingons. But they do like Vulcans. Well, Mr. Spock, I didn't know you had it in you.
Spock: Obviously, tribbles are very perceptive creatures, Captain.
