RATE Val Kilmer's Performance in "TOMBSTONE" ?

Like most men, I assume, who first saw this movie as a child, I thought his character was the epitome of badass. He was fearless and loyal. I think we all wanted to be like him.

Kurt is outstanding in the pic, yet Kilmer walks away with the picture. He's helped enormously by the writers, who give him some brilliant lines to say, but his perf is from the top draw regardless.


Billy Clanton -  " you are so drunk you are probably seeing double"


Doc - "I have two guns, one for each of yah"


Kilmer's Doc is sexy and dangerous, it doesn't matter how drunk he is, you know the guy he is up against is in trouble, and there's a quip on the way.

The crying emo stuff at the end kind of took the impact off it.
I think it's an interesting attempt at a spaghetti western in America but the actors aren't rough enough.
One thing about those old euro-westerns, they had some rough-looking dudes (i.e Gordon Mitchell).
