It's getting a reprint in July. I'm a big fan of Kirby's art and just looking at panels of it on google images proves how amazing his work here is... But reviews on the actual writing/story seem to be pretty mixed. And, it was canceled before a conclusion.
Anyone read it? Is it worth reading?

Jack Kirby? Isn't that the guy who can't draw feet?

It's not Kirby's best work, but it's full to overflowing with the enormous ideas that make Kirby's writing a thrill to read.
As for the art, Kirby was slowing down at this point, and the Eternals embellisher, John 'Jumbo Johnny' Verpoorten, while competent, doesn't add anything extra to the work.
There are several panels and pages in the series that are fantastic on a conceptual level, but somewhat lacking in their execution. You get hints of the Kirby of his prime from time to time.
If I were to grade Eternals objectively, it would likely rate a B-. Grading on a fanboy curve gives it an instant, if not wholly justifiable B+. It's a must-read for Kirby aficionados.

Does the lack of an ending make it unfulfilling? I'm not sure to what extent the issues act as stand alone chapters or whether or not it reads more like a cohesive graphic novel. If it's the latter, I imagine the absence of a proper conclusion is frustrating. Also, what would you consider to be Kirby's best work as an artist? I'm very interested in collecting his work on Dr Strange and Thor. In fact, I ordered an omnibus collecting his work on Dr Strange from a comic book store in San Diego. It should be arriving this week!

I'm very interested in collecting his work on Dr Strange and Thor. In fact, I ordered an omnibus collecting his work on Dr Strange from a comic book store in San Diego. It should be arriving this week! Many of the plot lines that went unresolved in Kirby's initial run of Eternals were resolved later in Thor under Roy Thomas and Mark Gruenwald's tenure on the book. The lack of a true ending for me is both a blessing and a curse. It's frustrating because you don't know how certain dangling plot threads would have been unresolved. On the other hand, it's those same mysteries that gave the Eternals their staying power all these decades later. My favorite work from Jack Kirby is his early run on the Fantastic Four. I was practically obsessed with it for about three years. I tried and failed to acquire some of his original artwork on that run, and I ended up buying the spendy Kirby artist's editions from IDW.
