no. is that needed to live in Cali? Well yeah. They ask you at entry stations if you like artichokes. Well that is NorCal. Nora. I think you have to like sushi to live in SoCal. They are trendy. That poster who lived in Monterey would know why I asked about artichokes. I remember eating those a lot as a kid. We dipped the leaves in mayo. Now a days I like the marinated hearts in salad. And spinach artichoke dip!

Even the garbage hell of Salinas is expensive. I don't know why with high crime, surrounded by farms, and not much to do. Thank god I lived next to Monterey. That was as small as a municipal area I have ever lived in. Monterey looks lovely, but also pretty expensive no? Yes it's pretty expensive. Always has been but it depends how close you are from the ocean. Now it's just expensive overall every where. You might be able to find 1200-1800 sq ft homes around $500-550K right next door in Seaside and if lucky have a view of Monterey Bay and the peninsula. Seaside was where the middle class and military families not wanting to live on post when Fort Ord was active. By no means do I consider $500K affordable. Seaside is built up on rolling hills of sand dunes that go up higher and higher as you go further inland for about 1.5 miles which allows for that ocean views. I remember watching from a house extension back windows of the 4th of July fireworks in Monterey across the bay which was 4 miles away.
I think the more affordable homes and newly built are in Marina and in what was Ft. Ord.

Yes Monterey is expensive. It always has been. But depends if you live on the peninsula near touristy places, near downtown or closer to the airport where poor live. Poor as in middle class. Pebble Beach, Pacific Grove, Carmel, and Carmel Valley more expensive.
I have not ate artichokes enough to form an opinion. Maybe only once in my lifetime 20 years ago.

I never had artichokes while I lived in Montery Bay area but I ate fried Calamari. Yes I have lived there and attended Monterey High, home of the ugly bright yellow & green school colors but with cool the name, Toreadors.

I try explaining banana slugs to people in the midwest and they think I'm making it up.

Though I don't think they're edible. But fried calamari are delicious!

I think it was not one of her better decisions in life.

Must be a Santa Cruz thing cause I'm a vegetarian hippie I'd also call myself a feminist, but in the way all people should be feminists (equal rights, pay, opportunities, etc.), not the emasculating man-hater nonsense that's cropped out from it.

I think she ended up in the more militant no shaving variety. Nah, that's unnecessary. I mean, I support women being as hairy as they'd like, if that's what makes them comfortable, but braiding your leg hair is not a statement about women's rights.
