I get the sense that nobody here listens to current music. That's awesome. I cant think of the latest up to date song I heard and liked. Certainly isnt anything from the popular groups or artists that's for sure. In indie rock (my genre) there are tons of great bands from the 2000s. I still find new music all the time - - search through Spotify like I used to through zines and Trouser Press back in the day. Tons of great rock still being made if you search for it. I'm 49 and up until COVID-19, I was still going to concerts to see bands that hadn't put their first album out until 2015 or so.

I just got to ask, are you one of the types to praise a band/artist when you "found them first" only to say they suck when they become popular? In college the band Hinder's "Lips of an Angel" got played a lot before they got popular. But holy fuck, once they did so many people would talk of how they sucked. I find it odd that people will seek out artists in order to "be there first" only to once they get recognized turn on them like they sold out or aren't good anymore.

My Bay area stations were KFOG, college stations KFJC, KZSU, and KALX, and some small Cupertino station.

Typically I'll tire of a band eventually. The number of bands who make really good fifth albums is incredibly small. The type of bands that I like never get popular (especially today), so I don't have to worry about saying they suck when they become popular. For the scant few who do, I'm more likely to say "yeah, where the fuck were you?" rather than "oh, they are overrated".
