autumn and he looks good in a crew cut He sure does. He looks very natural, and it doesn't look forced. I'm not sure what it is, but I just really, really find him so appealing.

Frank Sutton:
He could not pass the US Marine Corps physical during World War II, and ended up serving in the U.S. Army. During his service he distinguished himself by taking part in 14 assault landings, including Leyte, Luzon, Bataan and Corregidor.
He also appeared in episodes of Gun Smoke and The Twilight Zone. When Jim Neighbors left Gomer Pyle and starred his own variety show he took Frank Sutton with him as a supporting player.

Aww, this is so cool. I'm watching the Andy Griffith show, and this is the episode where Gomer joins the USMC and meets Sgt. Carter, and we get an introduction to the everyone. I've never seen this before. This is great! Nice.
I didn't know there was a segue episode.

I love how they reuse the casting troupe from TV shows made around the same time.
I just saw "Father Mulcahey" from M*A*S*H in an episode of Gomer Pyle as a private in the USMC.

This is funny! I'm watching an issue of Gomer Pyle, and Klinger is a sergeant in this one, a very young Klinger!
It's always so interesting how so often the actors criss-cross into different TV series around the same time period.
Oh wait, and at the very end, he's walking down the dirt road wearing one of Klinger's dresses! Hahaha!
