Can Emus swim 3000 miles? They are good swimmers. With the right tides, calm seas, and a bit of luck, who knows 🤷♀️

The Bristol Emu has had sightings from near Stroud in the north to Weston Super Mare to the south. That would mean s/he is ranging over 60 miles, and skirting a city of half a million people in the middle of it's range.
I thought that was unlikely, then looked it up... Emus happily range up to 500 miles, and can travel at 30mph when they want to.
Every day's a school day... and today's subject is emus.

I hate Emus thanks to the dopey Liberty Mutual ads. The company has the Statue of Liberty in its logo and uses an Australian bird as its "spokesman". You figure it out.
In case you missed it the first 45,967,432,056,334,889,000 that its been shown

Breaking: police just shot it. j/k Oooh... They wouldn't be popular if they did. People like saying when they've seen it... It's the people's emu.

EMU FACTS OF THE DAY (insert drum roll here)
Emus have two sets of eyelids... One is for blinking with. The other keeps dust off their eyeballs.
Emus use their wings to keep cool by wafting, and to steer when they're running.
Male emus do the egg incubating, not females.
