Now they are really crossing the line. because to censor Netflix or something is one thing but to censor the proper release of a movie (i.e. on BluRay) is another.
but that's the left for you... they don't want to offend Islam which is a joke as the left does not acknowledge that Islam is the enemy of the USA/Christianity. look at the history of Islam, it's not exactly peaceful/friendly with Christianity.

"True Lies" will probably never come to bluray.

And within the United States, things aren't peachy keen within different Christian denominations. Same goes for different racial groups, particularly between whites and non-whites.
And upon a recent watch on HBO, True Lies appeared to be untouched.

EL CID had him siding with some Muslims against the bad ones. I don't know how historically accurate that was but that's the early 60s. Robin Hood 1991 had a Moor as his friend/mentor.
The Ghost and the Darkness really was pro-Muslim--it made the hindus out to be anonymous fools but gave the Muslim railroad foreman some dialogue and Val Kilmer waves goodbye to him at the end. On the other hand Rules of Engagement really tilted the other way--with 7 year old Arab girls being gun-toting terrorists.

I never watched the movie, but isn't the same premise to "Lawrence of Arabia"?

No. It starts with an African emir who wants to take over the world and he berates the weaker muslim leaders for not preparing for war. El Cid spares them so they become his friend (well one does, the other turns traitor).

I watched THE LONG SHIPS 1964--this is another one with some subtle or not so subtle propaganda. It presents the Vikings as savage, uncontrolled, immoral (they steal and break bargains with each other). On the other hand, the Moors are presented as civilized (excluding the fiendish torture devices) and they even say that Christians went around raping Muslim women.
Also, in MALCOLM X--the message is presented that he finds acceptance when he goes to Mecca on pilgrimage-implying that Islam did not make race distinctions and accepts anyone.
