My favourite director saying the truth about movies as usual.I was justing doing some read up about him and comics and I came across this topic.
https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1m1ipt/according_to_hugh_jackman_when_christopher_nolan/
''There wasn’t really a superhero genre before X-Men came out. Funny enough, I remember catching a plane while we were promoting The Prestige with Chris Nolan [who] said to me that he’d always had the Batman in his mind. Even way back before 2000, he had the version of Batman that he ended up making in his head. He said, ‘when I went into the cinema and saw X-Men, I said damn, that’s my idea.’ The idea that you could really dive in to the emotional life, to the vulnerability of these characters and that, as well as being fantastical, amazing and action, is what’s going to hook people and make them care. That’s what Bryan did, he had a lot of courage to do that.”
Its pretty cool he said this since this is what most fans and critics said about X-Men 1 and why they hated X3. And to think this is not even in my top 3 best X-Men films. I wonder what he thoughts were on Logan, DOFP and X2 since they even took the story telling bar higher than X-Men 1. I will also make the case for First Class.
I hope he saw Logan in particular since many critics said it was better than TDK and when DOFP was released they called it the best drama comic film since TDK at that time.
I think it sad that most directors don't feel this way about marvel films anymore.20 years is not that long for things to change so fast.I also wonder if Fiege knows the task ahead, what chances are there that Nolan will like the MCU X-Men film, MCU does not really do anything of the things Nolan mentioned.
I also think what Nolan said is the only great way to make good xmen films and fox themselves proved it , this is why only X1, X2. First Class and DOFP are the only acclaimed films in the main series and the larger extent since as the most philosophical marvel films
Cheers to Nolan for championing comic movies as a platform for real art than just a means to sell toys. I dont care if he is mostly a DC guy but a good comic movie is a good comic movie.

I think disney needs to do something so marvel can get back to this type of reception. I mean even the average mcu fan seem tired of marvel films been about fun, jokes and funny.
you know there is a problem when endgame becomes the highest grossing film ever and it praised for been fun and nostalgic at least Avatar broke a lot of film making artistic direction.
