Tomorrow for Svengoolie we get to see: I think I remember reading that despite the title of this movie, the bride herself only appears for several minutes towards the end. To be honest I don't remember because it's been years since I've seen the movie. Tomorrow I'll get to see!

Thought I would check it out tonight but my local cable provider is preempting it to report on a tornado near the Orlando Airport. Could be very dangerous. I am not very close to Orlando but we are getting tornado warnings tonight.

I am not very close to Orlando but we are getting tornado warnings tonight. We got interrupted with severe weather alerts and told to take shelter in the lowest floor, center of the house, but for where I live, that was closer to 2pm. We had severe thunder storms with quarter sized hail. Be safe and I hope you're not in any danger where you live. Safety first, always. I saw Crystobal heading towards the Gulf and smack into Florida. Keep us posted!

I'm not sure if it streams on the internet. I watch it on MeTV. But this movie is quite old so I'm willing to bet it's up on YouTube in its entirety if you want to watch along.

Also, I've seen some of Svengoolie's older shows on YouTube and found his commentary is very entertaining. I must remember to check out MeTV sometime.

I am not very close to Orlando but we are getting tornado warnings tonight. I spoke to soon. Severe thunder storm alert warnings are now coming up, and warnings are being flashed on the screen, along with warnings of downed power lines, more hail, 60mph wind gusts, lightning strikes. The thunder boomers just started kicking up about 3 minutes ago. I thought we had our little storm this afternoon but I guess that was just a taste of things to come. Right now, I can hear the rain coming down, and my dog is taking cover. *sigh8 Be safe everyone, wherever you are!

I was right. It's almost over and the bride hasn't even made an appearance. The TITLE of the movie is THE BRIDE of Frankenstein and yet she's only in the movie for about 3-4 minutes or something like that.

Interesting facts from Svengoolie's commentary.
Valerie Hobson (Elizabeth) was only 17 at the time. Quite the young beauty!
Claude Rains was considered for the role of Doctor Pretorius, Rains was a great actor, but could he have been as creepy as Theseger? An interesting debate.

I fell asleep .... 'twas the hour not the movie whut dun it ! Was awake for the biography commentary and the song and since I have a DVD copy that I can watch it was not a total tragedy ! Elsa Lanchester is so young and so pretty at the beginning of the picture and the synopsis of Frankenstein Part Uno was terrific ! Una O'Connor .... <----- HOOT !
These alerts are a great idea , autumn ! U OK storm-wise ?

And she isn't even the bride of Frankenstein, she is the bride of the monster. People always get that confused, lol I brought that up when I called in to a radio trivia contest when I was a kid. The question was "who played the bride of Frankenstein?" I said "The doctor or the monster?" I won a free ice cream at a local restaurant.

These alerts are a great idea , autumn ! U OK storm-wise ? Plus did you see at the end, they wrote: Bride of Frankenstein. . . . . . . . . ?The Bride was Elsa Lanchester!! She had two roles in that movie but wasn't credited as the bride. And did you notice that despite the whole movie being titled The Bride she's only on screen for a total of about 3 minutes or so? Thank you for asking about the storm. Luckily this time the storm pasted quickly. We're not always so lucky.

Dr. Pretoreous calls her the bride of Frankenstein in the movie. The credits only refer to her as The Monster's Mate....?
In the next movie "Son of Frankenstein" they explain that people had started referring to the Monster by the name of his creator, Frankenstein. This is a cause of consternation for the Doctor's son but it explains why the name was adopted.

Don't miss next week's Svengoolie. It's going to be "Curse of the Werewolf", a Hammer film. I have not seen that one since I was a very young child.
