Polyester-- never wrinkles Silk -- breathes with hot weather Chiffon -- pretty But I don't use any of those autumn Polyester is too hot doesn't breath Silk can't go in the washing machine Chiffon is impractical. Guess I'm a cotton person.you can wash it. It breathes somewhat and is practical

Cotton - This seems to be what my body likes best, though I know it wrinkles. Rayon - I've done really well with rayon and it lets my body breathe Linen - I love how it wrinkles (and it's acceptable) and again, very breathable (I'm noticing a pattern), and the texture/feeling When it comes to silk, it makes me sweat like crazy and I've never understood how most people seem to claim that it let's their skin breathe and that they like the way it feels on their skin. To me, it feels clingy. It's very pretty though. I do like the look of raw silk, though, mostly because (here we go again) it has a texture to it. Chiffon is very pretty and nostalgic. Edit: Here is raw silk

Interesting thread as I was production manager at a textile factory.
I'd say cotton is nonpareil. It's natural and always feels good against the skin. Most my clothes are cotton.
For a suit I love wool. I would never wear anything but a cashmere suit.
Back in the day synthetic fibers were always uncomfortable in men's clothes at least. I mean rayon is a nice fabric, but for men's clothing there's not much in rayon.
Now you can find very comfortable synthetic fibers though. I bought a polyester shirt recently and it's fabulous. But polyester has a bad rep among us who remember the old days. You make a great point about it not being able to breathe.
Silk is the only decent fabric for ties. For that reason I'd put silk in the top three. Oh, and I have a kewl silk Hawaiian shirt!
So 1) Cotton 2) Wool 3) Silk

Probably cotton, silk, and cotton blended fabrics. It's extremely hot where I live so wearing cotton or linen is a must.

I seem to be the only one who's not a fan of silk. It makes me sweat. I also don't like the feel of it on my skin.
I like raw silk as an outer garment however, because the texture cannot be denied.

I don't necessarily think they are more comfortable, but when the humidity is at 47%, as it is here today, you definitely need a material that allows your skin to breathe.

I still remember the day the temperature was 50C/122F. Imagine wearing polyester or anything like that in that kind of heat.

I think the highest I can remember is 104F perhaps, maybe 108F, and right now, the humidity is absolutely through the roof. I don't know how people tolerate that kind of heat without collapsing.

It felt like my eyeballs were being cooked in my head, it was so hot.

I'm trying bamboo for the first time. Ordered a pair of bamboo jammies to try.
