Not sure where the standoff between Universal and AMC or other theater chains stands at the moment, but this is exactly the kind of thing that they took issue with. If those plans go forward it might be the first big release that theater chains choose not to show because the studio made it available at home on the same date. It will be interesting to see how it performs, whether the theaters hold true to that or not.

The original is one of the skin-crawliest (is that a term? It is now!) movies of all time. I can only hope it improves or is equal to the first one. Bring it on 2021, all those 2020 movies that were put on hold, we need them!  |

Still wondering what will happen with Halloween Kills. I don't see myself going to a theater for the remainder of the year, so fingers crossed for a VOD option same day.

I'll be honest, I don't expect this to top the original because there is only one Tony Todd, but could still be great. I want a prequel so bad. Candyman has a great origin story. They could explore a voodoo theme and Tony Todd could play the grandfather or something. Someone make it happen! |

It irritates me they seem to have made up a whole new Candyman legend... 🙄 A guy gets gunned down by Cops for putting Razorblades in Candy? So basically they saw that in the shrine of part 1... and pulled it out of their asses. ("Different Hives".) I really hope that's not how this one ends... I'm not really digging the vibe of this so far. |
