I was pleasantly surprised. Based on the first reviews and the negative points in some reviews I expected to give this movie a 6/10 or so. But I really liked it: all the characters are good, the story is always interesting and the villain is pretty good. It's also one of the most emotional MCU movies to date, at least for me. Drax was very funny and a great character. I think the standout character was Yondu, even though I didn't really find him interesting in the first movie. The pacing isn't as good as it is in the first movie, but it's still a very enjoyable ride. I still have to think about it, but right now I gave it an 8/10.

9/10. Can't decide if it was as good as the original or not (it maybe tries a little too hard sometimes), but it's damn close if it isn't.

The humor that worked so well in the first film clearly hurts it in the second film. They went too far with it forcing jokes where they didn't fit. The story was weak, and the plot device with his Dad was nothing special. A considerable step down from the first film, which was a true classic.

Did not work as well as the first one. Drax and Gamora felt useless, had almost nothing to do. The story was predictable and weak.
But the humour was top notch imo. That's the only reason I'm giving it a 7. It was absolutely hilarious, the post credit scenes had me in stitches.
I was wrong about Drax, he did have one purpose in this movie, giving the funniest lines in the movie. Not quite enough to give a higher rating, but he was pretty funny.
The humour was better in this movie, but that was part of the problem, imo. The serious parts were ridiculous, forced and shallow.
Still, it was a fun movie I will gladly see again. And it had Ben Browder, always good to see him again.

Despite a few positive comments this has a terrible average here at IMDBv2.0; 5.5/10, last I calculated. This clearly doesn't bode well for the long-term box office health of the movie.

6.5 over stuffed and overlong. played it too safe, should have gone a little more weird

Watched this yesterday. Damn near killed me it was so lame and boring. I only saw a few reasonable scenes usually with the little Groot.
5/10.

Was disappointed overall in the soundtrack picks -- the 70's had such great music! I found myself waiting for scenes with Baby Groot.

8/10. Better than the first one (which I'd give a solid 7/10). The humor didn't work as well, though.

i'm not a sucker for anything MCU, but the first Guardians is in my top 3 MCU. And i loved the second one just as much, i had a blast from start to finish
