I’m not sure how others feel, but I don’t think the NBA should return this year. It just seems very unwarranted. For one, are the teams gonna all have to relocate to Orlando? If so, that seems like much more trouble than it’s worth. There’s a lot to consider like the cost of living. It’s not like the players will pay for themselves to live there nor should they.
Additionally (and more importantly) what effect is this gonna have on their bodies? They are coming off 3 months rest and are now gonna have to be in playoff mode going hard for a championship. It’s gonna be tough to just turn things on like that. Also, how will this effect next season? I know these playoffs run through October. So is it going to be like they crown a champion on a Friday and start pre-season 2020-2021 on a Monday? Many of these guys could end up playing for like a year straight with no off season.
Finally, how legitimate would this years NBA champion really be considered. Different playing locations, long months break in between playoff starts, etc. I don’t think the winner, in my opinion, could be held up in the same regards as in a traditional season.
Really I just think at this point they’d be better off scrapping the whole season and focusing on next season.

I'd love to see it - but I don't think it will happen and nor do I think it should happen without a vaccine.
They're sweating profusely - banging up against each other all game fighting for positioning - sweating on each other and breathing each other.
The concern should always be the population's health first and foremost. Yes - the players will be tested - but there' just too much risk IMO.
The risk of passing it off to the general population - some of which may have weaker immune systems.
It's just not practical in my eyes.

I say just end the regular season, go to teh playoffs now, doing it in Orlando or one spot won't be that big a deal. Or just end it all now, which is the safest thing to do.

I just think it's too many teams.
I wish the NBA and NHL would do a final four, or even just a final two.

And I respect players for not wanting to take part for any number of reasons, whether the virus or the protests. But I'd be more than happy to take any player's place in the tournament! Let's make that one of those 'All In' challenges. Let fans decide the title! Would that be any less respectable than whatever version of the playoffs we get?

Annnnd... it's gone.
Just like I & many others suspected: Walt Disney World becomes moot once it starts allowing the public in, which involves a lot of staff employed around the resort... which they now seem to be wanting.
Maybe the NBA should join MLB on Mars where they expect to play in front of the 2 fans baseball has left.

I don’t get why the NBA is even coming back at this point, it doesn’t make sense, their season would be over by now, they should just end this season and come back in October/November when they normally start.

And then there is this. The teams are still at home being tested, haven't even made it to Florida yet. The games and the hotels they stay at would all be on the Disney World property. I guess a few restaurants would be open to them and same with a couple of golf courses. But Florida is just exploding with new COVID-19 cases. Who knows? Glad the commissioner feels comfortable with these numbers. 16 out of 302 NBA players test positive for coronaviruswww.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29369877/16-302-nba-players-test-positive-coronavirusexcerpt ------------------------------------------------------ The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association on Friday said 16 players tested positive for the coronavirus in the first wave of mandatory tests done in preparation for the restart of the season. Those 16 players were part of a pool of 302 tested on Tuesday -- a 5.3% rate of positive tests leaguewide. Commissioner Adam Silver said the numbers were roughly as expected and that none of the 16 were seriously ill. "One thing we're learning with this virus is, so much is unpredictable," Silver said during Friday's conference call with National Basketball Players Association executive director Michele Roberts and NBPA president Chris Paul. "We're not saying full steam ahead no matter what happens. We all talk daily, and we're gonna see how this continues to play out. But we feel very comfortable right now with where we are." -----------------------
