plot - Surfer dude from California moves to mid-west or southern school and becomes star player who unites a racially divided team. This might be just a sub-plot.
We Are Marshall? - maybe?
Saw it on television in the last 10 years or so. Probably from this century.
Thanks in advance.

I thought We Are Marshall had something to do with a plan crash?

I thought We Are Marshall had something to do with a plan crash? yeah....most of the team and staff are killed in a plane crash and the new coach has to raise a new team. I recall a racial divide among the players but don't remember if this is the movie where a new star player is a laid-back California dude who treats blacks and whites equally to unite the team.
