Has anyone watched the first episode already? If you have, what's your rate?

Just finished a few minutes ago. The guy playing Shadow is just okay and some of the CGI looks bad. Other than that I liked the first episode and will watch the rest of the season. I've read the book and thought it was great and I'm glad to see they're staying accurate.

I tend to like bizarre shows nut this one just didn't grab me. Doubt if I'll continue with it. Actually missed the last few minutes because I didn't want to miss the beginning of Shades of Blue (which was a pretty good episode BTW).

Amazing! Watched the first episode and couldn't wait so bought the book and am halfway through it already. This and Westworld have grabbed me and pulled me in this year and I love being smothered in their embrace.

Doesn't this show have Ian McShane who was in TV show Lovejoy?
I'm looking forward to trying this.

I wouldn't lump Westworld in with American Gods honestly, its more in relm with Mr. Robot, Leftovers, Legion. Westworld doesn't feel as idiosyncratic nor complicated as plotting has.

I finally got to watch it last night and I loved it. I read the book (and might have to reread it now) and really liked it but I think this might be better especially if it continues like this.

YeH it was very good. It could use a brush up on the cgi but that's to be expected from a show that's not Game of Thrones....

New episode was good. Loved seeing Gillian Anderson! Can't wait to see more Anansi.

Has anyone watched the first episode already? If you have, what's your rate? I wasn't that thrilled at first, especially since Shadow can't act very well, but by the end of the sex scene I was hooked. I'm not a big fan of explicit sexuality in films or shows, unless needed, but this was brilliant and made me interested in seeing more. Edit: more of the show and not (just) the sex scenes.

I love watching Ian McShane in action. He balances out the lead actor very well. The sex scene was interesting. I watched the 2nd episode with Bilquis entering a museum. I couldnt read the emotion on her face when she gazed at the jewels. I couldnt grasp the entire significance of her wistful looks but I think her storyline will be most engaging.
Loved Cloris Leachman and Peter Stormare. What I really want is more backstory.

I can and will lump them together as they are the two shows I've enjoyed most this year. I'm not comparing writing, plot etc just that I like both.

The first episode was interesting but the next 2 haven't really done much for me. Ian McShane is awesome as always but I really don't give a shit about anyone else. How many meandering "oh gosh it's all so mysterious and we will drag it out forever blah blah blah" shows do we really need?
I get it. Apparently these type shows make certain people feel clever when they prattle on about how AAAAAMMMMAAAZZZZZZING it is but what's wrong with wanting some actual substance to go with al the smoke and mirrors?
I don't remember missing a scene but I didn't see any hot sex scene. Surely people weren't stimulated with the awkward scene with the butt ugly dumpy black chick and that goofy white guy were they? Even more awkward was the scene with the 2 muslim guys suckling cock.
Again maybe what fascinates other people is a lot different than what I find erotic. Nothing wrong with that I guess but it's odd to hear ugly people banging referred to as the greatest sex scene of all time. White kids are so silly sometimes.

My mentioning the sex scene as making me want to watch more of AG didn't have that much to do with the erotic content of it, but what it meant. It finally showed us a god(ess). For me, the jinn and man sex scene was very awkward and unnecessary. Jinn are not known in Islamic/Arab mythology as being sexual beings.

It's aight. Nothing amazing. It def has kept the comic book style and feeling. People are complaining about the CGI but I think it looks fine. It literally looks like a graphic novel.
