As is, everyone, I'm going to have to leave this round open for at least another hour. This is exactly what I didn't want to do.

As previously stated I watched 39 Steps again earlier, and I saw a goof in it I'd never noticed before. The crofter's wife hands Hannay her husband's coat as his own is too light in colour, which he dons over his own coat he's still wearing. That's fine until you realise the substantial difference in size between the two men. Hannay (Donat) is much taller and broader than the crofter (Laurie), yet Hannay donned the coat on top of the other with ease.

The hour is up. Volver is yet to vote, but how long do we wait? Declare a draw and move on to the next batch perhaps? Anyone know what that will be?

@eriknight , have you voted? Yes, I did. The 39 Steps is my #1 best Movie. And Psycho is at # 2 Well, we had some drop-off voting towards the end, but to be fair this has been a fairly long game and maybe some voters feel that neither movie should be where they are at and their personal favorite has already been voted off. So, we should declare the winner at 7 tonight. boy did I learn alot about Hitchcock during this past week, think I understand his movie's and his directing and vision far better. So, it was great game for me and an good excuse to take my time learning about his legacy.

Yes, @eriknight , I saw you did, and that I had already factored it in, and responded by PM.
Nice that the game helped somewhat for your learning about Hitchcock! I'm happy you got something out of it.
Unless someone--@volver ?--votes in the next half-hour, I'm calling the game for The 39 Steps. This has gone on far too long. Sorry, folks.

The next step is to see if there is still general interest in another game? Would it be wrong to run a 'Classic's Survivor' game on the Classics thread instead? or would that be clogging things up a bit, though there is a 'Garth' game always going.

Congratulations is also in order for the second-place finalist, Psycho... ...and to our third-place co-finalists, North by Northwest and The Lady Vanishes.

I thought it would be interesting to compare our top three to a top three that another Hitchcock survivor game did. Ours: 1. The 39 Steps2. Psycho3. The Lady Vanishes and North by Northwest_________________________ Theirs: 1. The 39 Steps2. Foreign Correspondent 3. North by Northwest And, believe it or not, I just realized how similar these two lists are.

And my many thanks to all you, the players (with whom none of this would possible--to paraphrase PBS!). I am delighted that, even in these salad days, the game caught on as it did.
I am going to note that the game is now closed (yes, I've now transferred from sounding like a PBS announcer to James Coburn in The Last of Sheila, but...) in the subject thread, but of course you're more than welcome to continue posting here.

The people have spoken! Congratulations to THE 39 STEPS! I realize that I haven't watched it in a few years so I just dug out my copy of it and I'm watching it this weekend. The winner deserves the respect of a fresh viewing. A special thanks to Pollster Extraordinaire, Salzmank. You conducted the entire affair with equal measures professionalism, patience and humor. It was so fun to be a part of it. Well done, sir.

A little surprising but satisfactory result.

Thanks for the nice words, everyone. I know I've asked before, but would you mind voting again for what kind of survivor game you want to see next? As I'm going to be very busy this week and next, tarathian123 has kindly taken on the hosting duties for the next round. So, what kind of game do you all want to see? Salzmank
