There are over 30 movies in the list. If only one a day is to be eliminated, it's going to take over a month to complete one game. Well, as I said, after Round 3, I'll eliminate two movies each day—or more, depending on how many votes each gets. And how about, instead of my breaking ties, I just let the tie stand and eliminate both pictures, so that everything moves more quickly? Sorry about all the rule changes, everyone! I'm still working out the bugs myself.

Still--
2 votes Topaz, 2 votes Under Capricorn, 1 vote Stage Fright, 1 vote Sabotage, 1 vote Family Plot, 1 vote The Lodger, 1 vote Murder!, 1 vote Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Just repeating it here because I'm about to head off to bed, and I'll look again tomorrow morning. Remember, this round closes earlier, at 5:00 pm EST tomorrow (May 2, 2017).

Thankee, shawshanked! That's 3 votes Topaz, 2 votes Under Capricorn, 2 votes Family Plot, 1 vote Stage Fright, 1 vote Sabotage, 1 vote The Lodger, 1 vote Murder!, 1 vote Mr. and Mrs. Smith, 1 vote Spellbound. Speaking of which, shawshanked, I'd be interested in reading your thoughts on Spellbound--highly regarded, as far as I know, but I've always felt it very weak and lacking, despite those grand dream sequences that Dali designed. By the way, folks, a little over four hours until polls close!

P.S. If anyone wants to explain his or her thoughts in voting off one or more of these, he or she is more than welcome to do so. As I tried to explain to Doghouse6 on the other thread, I think this sort of thing actually builds dialogue, which is a good thing for these boards, methinks. I'm particularly looking forward to @eriknight 's comments on Vertigo.

Just digressing a tad....I've always found the Dali dream sequences in Spellbound somewhat ludicrous. Of course I can't speak for anyone else, but my dreams, even occasional recurring themes (which are never actually repeats), are never so cut and dried, and never so intense. WS Gilbert seems to be more accurate in his "Nightmare Song" (from 'Iolanthe'). Sorry folks...back to the game.

Y'know, they probably are ludicrous--I'm certainly not looking at them as pictures of psychological realism! With that said, though, I do think they're the most entertaining parts of the movie, all mysterious and eerie, reminding me a little of Stevenson's New Arabian Nights for some reason.

To each his own I guess. They've always turned me right off the movie, which will be one of my next votes.

Spellbound's not a favorite of mine, either, I'm afraid. I do like the dream sequences, and Ingrid Bergman's performance--oh, and that great sequence in the all-white bathroom that's a precursor to Psycho!--but that's all. I just don't think it all coalesces, and the pacing is very slow and stately (more like producer Selznick than director Hitchcock, in fact).

As we're voting for elimination I take it that the one with the highest marks goes. Any with the same count also goes along with it?

Why not set two or three games (perhaps even more) in motion at the same time? It could be worked similarly to Baker's Dozen

I was considering that, but I'm doing quite a bit at the moment work-wise, and running two games may be a lot. Unless you have any interest in running another game?

If it was established then players could run their own topics as with BD. One following on from another. It could also be quickened up to retain interest, with specific rules to keep order. Just a thought. Oh, OK, I guess so. I mean, that's fine with me! We can make sure the proportional representation rules work for the next few rounds, and then I would have no problems with many new games. P.S. I'm very interested in a Lubitsch survivor game if anyone wants to do that... (Lubitsch is my favorite director.)
