7 votes Torn Curtain, 7 votes Trouble with Harry, 5 votes Mr. and Mrs. Smith, 4 votes Stage Fright, 2 votes '56 Man Who Knew Too Much, 1 vote Frenzy.
(I may need an amateur mathematician to check on my arithmetic going forward, as simple as that arithmetic is--it's not exactly my strong point.)

When's the next cut-off point?

I'm trying to decide that myself. As you and I have said many a time, we don't this thing to go on for an eternity, so I'll leave it up to all of you, the players: when do you want the cut-off point to be? I'd say "vote for it," but we're voting a lot already, so... Talk it out?

You already know my views. :-) On the voting method, yes, but on the cut-off date? (Unless I missed something--sorry!)

No. But my idea wouldn't involve a cut-off point.

OK, well, as we're keeping this set of rules for this round, I'll give a cut-off point of...say noon tomorrow (4:00 GMT)?

Wow. The Rules change fast around here-LOL
Me thinks that I am getting this new voting right-??
5. Torn Curtain 4. Mr. & Mrs. Smith 3.. Stage Fright 2. Jamaica Inn 1.Murder!
It is hard to fight for most of these pictures until we get to the better ones, plus, I love Hitchcock but films like Murder! have been seen a long-time ago, so?
The trouble with Harry, certainly deserves to stay, long before the films on my list are gone!!! This film has had a cult following for quite a few years since it's release,,,leaves me very confused???
But getting back to Ernst Lubitsch, I have been told that you should seriously look at his silent movies to see how revolutionary he was and influential but having just watched and reviewed 'Trouble in Paradise' 1932 starring Miriam Hopkins, Kay Francis, and Herbert Marshall, this is a perfect summation of everything he tried to bring to films, this movie is just pure delight and wonderful escapism, filled with wit, sophistication, and fantastic set designs and style. What great cinema is really all about.

@eriknight , thanks for your comments, and so nice to see another Lubitsch fan! I completely agree with you on Trouble in Paradise, one of my favorite movies of all time (definitely in my personal top 10). It is indeed "pure delight and wonderful escapism," the perfect way to describe its charm and whimsy. Would you do me a huge favor and repeat your comments in the "Lubitsch" thread? Trying to get something going there...
My sincere apologies about all the rule changes--that's all my fault, but I've been working behind the scenes to make this game fairer, easier, and quicker. (Just noticed how much that sounds like a politician--oy!) I also don't want this game to last for eternity, which is why I think this voting method, and reducing the period of a round, will help.
Yes, you've got the voting method right. (And I actually like Murder! better than most people here, it seems--for an early sound picture, it's fairly decent, with some interesting "directorial niceties," as Andrew Sarris would phrase it--but I understand why people don't.)
Let me factor in your votes...
17 votes Torn Curtain, 13 votes Trouble with Harry, 12 votes Mr. and Mrs. Smith, 6 votes Jamaica Inn, 4 votes Spellbound, 7 votes Stage Fright, 3 votes The Lodger, 3 votes Murder!, 2 votes '34 MWKTM, 2 votes '56 MWKTM, 1 vote Frenzy, 1 vote Sabotage.

Murder! Young and Innocent Mr. & Mrs. Smith Stage Fright The Paradine Case Hey, jervistetch, thanks! We've changed the voting system a little bit, so each selection gets a certain number out of 5 depending on how much you want it off the list. For example, if you really didn't like Mr. and Mrs. Smith, you'd give it a 5, but if you were only indifferent to Young and Innocent, you'd give it a 1. And everything in between. Does that help? Sorry about all the rule changes--still trying to work out the bugs!

Oh. Well, to be honest, I've never seen the first three so I'll number my choices thusly:
5. Murder! 4. Young and Innocent 3. Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2. Stage Fright 1.The Paradine Case
Thank you for explaining it.
