14 votes Spellbound, 9 votes I Confess, 8 votes Stage Fright, 8 votes Murder!, 7 votes Saboteur, 5 votes The Birds, 5 votes To Catch a Thief, 4 votes Suspicion, 4 votes Marnie, 4 votes MWKTM '34, 4 votes MWKTM '56, 3 votes Young and Innocent, 3 votes Sabotage, 2 votes Frenzy, 1 vote The Wrong Man.
Very interesting--we have a wide swath here, with a far wider number of choices than any of the earlier rounds, I think.

OK, and just like that Round 4 ends and Round 5 (what! Already?) begins.

Making Spellbound and I Confess our main losers in this round--interesting...

7 Pm EST cut-off time is 1 am in my time, it doesn't matter if the game runs for 24 hours. Otherwise, it's a bit late, as I have to get up early in the morning.

OK, think I understand better now--sorry about the confusion! I tend not to like each round to run for 24 hrs. just because I don't want the whole thing to take too long (that was one of the bugs I was working out to begin with)... Would it be OK if I start it at 7 EST tonight and end it at 12 noon tomorrow (6 pm for you, I think)? Or does it have to be 24 hrs?

While it seems to be understood that either two or three top-counted movies will be deleted per round, the selection procedure seems to be unclear. Some players are having 5 choices ranging from 5 points down to 1, another is selecting 4 ranging from 5 points down to 2. In the last round one player had 5 choices, 2 x 5 points and his others ranging from 4 points down to 2 which was actually approved (although I think that has been rectified). Can we please have a hard a fast rule and have some uniformity in selection?
5. The Paradine Case 1947 4. The Birds 1963 3 Stage Fright 3 Frenzy

Can we please have a hard a fast rule and have some uniformity in selection? I wasn't really intending any hard and fast rule about this, though we can create one if you'd like. The reason I approved the 2 5-pt. votes is because I think it's possible to dislike two movies just as much and give it the same number of votes. I thought the only rule is that you choose at most five movies and award each one a score out of 5, depending on how much you want or do not want to keep it. How you do that, though, is your decision. I don't think that makes it too much of a free-for-all.

It was panning out as a PR poll system. i.e. 5 points down to 1 point, 15 points total, which is how most are voting. But then if one player then votes for example 3 movies at 5-points each, and two movies at 4 points each, simply because of equal preference then he's getting 8 more points than the others. There needs to be some rule preventing that.

In either case, I think that choosing to skip over one number of votes from 5-1 is OK, though, no? I mean, if you want to give only up to 4, not 5, I think that's fine. Or like Volver did in not choosing a "1". In any case, from now on, all players must use each number of votes allocated only once per round. Therefore, you cannot give five votes to two movies, or any others.
