I'm looking on Amazon for supplies since I can't find anything at the store.
This is insane. Just totally insane.

If you don't mind buying in bulk, the Brawny's $24 for 12 rolls.

Is this an item shipped by Amazon or one of third party vendors? If the latter, send Amazon a complaint. Heck, send them a complaint even if it is Amazon.

Amazon is ripping you off. Walmart, Kroger/Pick & Save, Piggly Wiggly all have plenty of paper towels(with you on not getting the cheap crap). Or Costco, Woodman's....

I get grocery pick-up (I don't shop indoors anymore, haven't since March, except for pharmacy and quick surgical shops), and I avoid big stores where people gather in large crowds not wearing masks. I'm doing as much online shopping as possible. I may check eBay. Perhaps as a last resort I'll pop into Walmart, because I'm not paying that kind of price.

Here you can order online, go to Walmart, and an associate brings it out to you. Check to see if that's available. At least you wouldn't have to go in the huge store. Good luck!!

I do my shopping at my regular grocery store where I pick my items up by shopping online from their menu, putting into a cart, and I do curb-side pickup. I have brand loyalty with Bounty paper towel and Scott toilet paper because I've found they work the best in my opinion and those are always sold out first. When I see TP or paper towel "available" on the menu, my brands are never available. But, by the time I go to pick my order up, they're always sold out and their new policy is they won't discuss substitutions. (Which just sounds really weird to me). I will check out the Walmart that's near me. The prices of paper towel are up at least 60%.

Supply and demand. Do not question the invisible hand. I know. Economics 101. Combine that with human greed and a willingness to capitalize at a time when so many people are unemployed and we're going through a pandemic that is far from being over.

And, it reminds me of a reverse situation several years ago, when the "Swine Flu," was a concern. It had nothing to do with our porcine "friends," and was give the alternate name of "H1N1" (or, something like that). But, the short term economic damage was done to the pork industry. Chops, ribs, tenderloins, roasts were practically being given away. My Mom and I stocked our freezers, at great savings.

I'm craving a beef steak but am having trouble pulling the trigger on a $15 steak -- each!

I noticed meat is about a dollar more per pound than 3 months ago Have you noticed? I don't eat red meat, so it's not having an impact on me. (Oh, to clarify, I enjoy a good beef tenderloin or fillet mignon, but I just haven't had it many, many years, and have only been eating fish and chicken for years). By the way, I finally find some paper towel, but the only brand was "Sparkle." The stuff practically dissolved when I sprayed it with disinfectant to wipe down my groceries. It takes about 4-5 times as much as a single sheet of Bounty. That's why I stick with that one brand. I've gone through a half a roll of this Sparkle "tissue-like" paper towel. It's going to cost me even more, despite being "cheaper." And by cheaper, I mean only by not that much cheaper.

I mostly use it with my daughter. If I spray a cleaner I use a cloth rag to wipe it up Lol Different uses may be the difference

If I spray a cleaner I use a cloth rag to wipe it up Lol Different uses may be the difference I ordered TP from Amazon, 36 rolls. And yes, I paid above the going rate, but again, I'm brand specific. The last TP I bought at the store was some type of quilted two or three ply, and I went through the entire 6 pack in about ten days. It's like it's not wound very tightly and there aren't that many sheets. Given I'm used to Scott, I could buy a 6 pack and it would last 8 - 10 weeks or longer. I was not prepared for how quickly my trash filled up with cardboard rolls from the quilted stuff. It was surreal. I used the paper towel to spray disinfectant to wipe down all my groceries and deliveries, and decontaminate them before bringing them into my house, so they can get caught on corners of packages.
