Eric Clapton - The Core (1977)
While I never quite managed to love the solo efforts of Eric, as much as I had hoped, and certainly, giving Slowhand (1977) a few listens, coming up shortly after the fantastic stuff he did back with Derek and the Dominos, the later 70s albums of his, sadly (in my ears) just comes out as too "safe" and where Slowhand sure includes some great killers, but also a bit too fillers in between. Thankfully, it does include the truly great The Core, which I have no idea, is not among the many CD compilations of Clapton, as that must surely stand firmly and tall, as one of his absolute best songs from the late 70s era. Totally superior to anything else on that album.
