I've been getting into The Smile and their debut album A Light For Attracting Attention lately. Fronted by Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood. It's not Radiohead, but in their absence (it's been 7 years since A Moon Shaped Pool!), it'll have to do. It's a lot looser than the works of the full team - comes off as Thom and Jonny jamming rather than the serious, alchemic craftwork you'd find in Radiohead's discography. Not necessarily a bad thing - The Smile is a side venture and still makes for a good listen.
But seriously, we need that 10th studio album, Radiohead.

I've been playing my music library A-Z by song, was in the N's and walking, was liking a song and it said Radiohead and I thought "Woah, I like a third song by them?" No, it was the song Radiohead by Neu! Which was obviously out of place. So it's still just Lurgee and Creep. Though Paranoid Android is okay. And Black Swan by Yorke. I think it's his singing that bugs me. I like this more. |
