During lockdown I watched Heroes vs. Villains & Redemption Island. Enjoyed both quite a bit, much more than I imagined. Hadn't watched since All-Stars which aired in 2004(!), & I was a regular until that.
Currently in the midst of Winners at War, season 40.
I'm thinking, honestly, that Survivor might in fact be a top 50 all-time tv show.

Just to be sure you mean Survivor (2000>) with Jeff Probst (because apparently there is a long running Survivor Wrestling Show too) . As a reality show it rates high near the top . Myself and family were avid watchers . We watched the first 10 Seasons , then with family changes it fell by the wayside . I tried to watch Season 11 , and the passion was gone . I seemed to have Survivor burn-out . Over the next couple of years , I attempted to get back into viewing it but I couldn't . We also had the same passion for The Amazing Race (2001>) and overall I think I would rate it one place above Survivor .

I've been randomly watching seasons of "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race". Not my usual go to shows. But they have been a nice distraction lately.

I've never seen one episode. The whole premise turned me off.

I’ve watched most seasons...a lot in the past several months during lockdown. It’s an enjoyable show that I don’t have to pay a ridiculous amount of attention to.
Heroes vs Villains is probably my favorite season. It’s a stellar cast all around and it really says something that a player like Tyson, who shines in all the other seasons he’s a part of, is almost glossed over completely in HvsV.
Other good seasons to watch...Cagayan (28), Tocantins (18), Micronesia (16), and China (15).

Ive watched every season of Survivor since I was 14. I’m 34 now.
My top 10 favorite seasons for different reasons are:
10. Season 18: Tocantins 9. Season 10: Palau 8. Season 8: All-Stars 7. Season 7: Pearl Islands 6. Season 19: Samoa 5. Season 16: Micronesia 4. Season 15: China 3. Season 20: Heroes vs Villains 2. Season 1: Borneo 1. Season 2: Australia
IMHO after Season 25 it’s been too much about twists, hidden Immunity Idols, lack of interesting cast members, less about surviving, less about human connection, people scramble and gameplay too much. I understand there are people who hate the old seasons and like the new ones only because of the twists and gameplay and strategy. As well as blindsides and drama at tribal counsel.
I prefer the old school. 16 players, 8 on each tribe. Maybe one tribal swap. And maybe 1 idol for each tribe pre merge and 1 after the merge. I hate when it seems like unlimited Hidden Immunity Idols.

Even the recent in game currency model was a little meh, although not in an op way, but rather a why is this even here kind of way. My top 10 probably closely resembles yours. Not sure if I have Palau on mine. But that’s the only one that jumps out to me.

I have done research on foreign versions of Survivor and they have some cool twists like when someone gets voted out they cast one more vote that counts at the next tribal council. Or where the two people who come in last during the challenge battle it out and the loser is out. (Only on special challenges) etc...
They need to get more creative like that in the U.S. instead of “let’s just throw in 20 Hidden Immunity Idols”
