Well considering for me the first one didn't live up to the hype I highly doubt the 2nd will. I never understood the masterpiece talk people had with that game.

The praise was mostly due to the story/characters. I liked the combat, but the gameplay was very repetitive. And the zombie apocalypse trend Yeah I've never been into zombie stuff and this game did nothing for it as it was basically the same generic zombie story that you get countless times. Oh some body is immune to the virus blah blah blah. While story for me is very important it's not the end all be all of a good game. I will say the voice acting was well done and the graphics were beautiful but that's basically it. I didn't care for either of the main characters like so many people say they did. Wasn't my cup of tea. The game play I wasn't really into as a lot of it was companion mission type stuff like having to help Ellie cross water because she couldn't swim and stuff. Those things annoy me. For me the game reached it's high point in it's opening and never quite recaptured that same level of interest from me. For me it was highly over rated with it's masterpiece talk.

I think it's being made by the same people, so I think there's a chance it could be good.

I thought it was a great game.
A masterpiece, no.
I loved the run down world and the seasonal change, I liked Joel and Ellie.
I thought it would have been better without a sequel but I will give them the benefit of the doubt, not so keen on the apparent time skip and now fully playing as Ellie thing though.

The first game was great but I still prefer the Uncharted games and by a vast margin.

What's the difference between a great game and a masterpiece? I think in the context of the videogame world, I would refer to it as one of the best experiences I've ever had. I felt like I was watching a movie that let me partake in it.
