With COVID hitting Florida so heavily, I fully expect the NBA to pull the plug.
As happened in March, that will then cause a domino effect for all of the others.

Maybe College basketball. Why was European football able to come back w/o a hitch (or a fan) but North American sports can't get over the first hurdle?
Of course, with the Bills a SB threat and Penn State a possibility for the Playoff.

Because a lot of Americans are too stupid and/or willfully ignorant to try to help flatten the curve. I think the NFL will have some kind of season, possibly abbreviated, probably not with any fans in the stadiums.

It is nothing but political bullshit. Trust me, if Joe Biden wins in November, we will see a "medical miracle" and all blue states will suddenly allow their citizens to go back to normal life, sports included.
If Trump wins, I guarantee we won't see sports as we knew it return for at least 2 or 3 years.
I'm sure I'm gonna get reamed for saying this, but it's the absolute truth. And deep down, you all know I'm right.

I was just having this conversation today. I don't think we'll see any sports this year.

Right now, I think the NFL has the best chance of playing a season. The MLB should have figured something out, but for whatever reason they can’t seem to reach an agreement. I think they’re starting to reach the point where it’s too late to move forward, We’re almost in July. The plans for the NBA and NFL to return just seem too complicated. I don’t get how they are gonna make it work. College sports are too risky because these players also interact with hundreds of students on a daily basis.
I really think the NFL has the best chance because their season is months off. They could work out a plan to keep their players (relatively) isolated. Obviously fans at the games would be a no go.

I’m pretty sure the NFL will play, hopefully for a full season. Maybe college football will play as well, I know a lot of schools want to reopen in the fall. And now it’s looking like we may get a 60 game MLB season.
I think people have overreacted to the virus and are buying in to fearmongering from the media and the so called “experts” - baseball could already be playing if it wasn’t for the money disputes.

If SEC football doesn't come back, nothing comes back. They wouldn't care what any other conference did.

If SEC football doesn't come back, nothing comes back. They wouldn't care what any other conference did. The SEC is the one conference/league in all of American team sports that I could see trying it out in the fall. Sorry to keep going political here, but I can't see any kind of sports happening in blue states, but the SEC is basically a swath of red states, so I can see them saying "Fuck it, we're playing football". If the SEC says no, we ain't seeing football of any kind till next year, pro or college.
