And the MCU have you fight him. Give RDJ 50m and he’ll do it.

There was a rumor about him transforming into Kang the Conqueror ahead of Endgame's release. Obviously that didn't happen but Kang could be an interesting villain in a future film.

it could be a good idea but this is disney. making RDJ Tony evil may force disney to not be less childish and they can't.

Looks like thenolan is back to make his weekly anti-Disney/MCU posts.

He was already evil in Civil War.
I'm sure they'll find a way to contrive him back to life somewhere down the road.

They've done time travel once... And not well. You're right, there was no well. If you mean the pad they used. It kinda looked like a well.

I love Tony Stark and Iron Man, but I'm not interested in seeing a evil version of the character. Besides, as someone already mentioned, he was basically the baddie in Captain American: Civil War.

He was certainly the antagonist though, effectively leading the charge against Cap.

Actually, Tony Stark's body will be possessed by the Kandarian Demon and he will turn into a Deadite.

Leave it be. Tony Stark in the MCU emerged during the war on terror. He then felt obligated, & further so, to join & keep ties with the Avengers... a project he was never fully in love with. He wanted Ultron to succeed as Tony first envisioned... so he could quit the superhero gig.

He was certainly the antagonist though, effectively leading the charge against Cap. How when he's the one willing to compromise with Steve, he's the one who gets betrayed, he's the one who gives Black Widow fair warning to make a run for it after she also betrays him, he's the one who kept Cap and Falcon out of prison, whilst Steve refuses to compromise and is revealed to have been lying to Tony for years all the while pretending to have the moral superiority. I mean you get why Cap does what he does, it doesn't come from malice or greed or anything but still out of the two of them Tony believes they need to have limits and cannot just do as they please when they please, but Cap's the one saying no to that, Tony as soon as there is any evidence proving Bucky is innocent of the crimes he is accused of aligns with Cap and Bucky until it's revealed Bucky killed his parents and Cap knew about it. If anything Cap is the dick in the situation, it's just a "Captain America" movie so he gets default protagonist status, also kind of funny how in the end it's the two super soldier "good guys" beating on the normal human "bad guy" in a suit of armour, isn't this normally the other way around?

Valid points all. I suppose I was viewing things through the lens of Cap, since he is the movie's lead. From his perspective, Tony is doing the wrong thing by siding with the political authorities - the kind of people whom he's come to distrust arising from his prior experiences in The Winter Soldier. To Cap, by his actions Tony is sanctioning the neutering of the Avengers and handing control of their operations over to the hands of powerful people whom he isn't necessarily convinced will always have the best interests of humanity at large at heart. Obviously, Tony sees things differently and we viewers won't necessarily agree with Cap's reasoning here, but it still makes Iron Man his opponent and, in this reading of the situation, the movie's antagonist. Civil War is strange in that it's a superhero film where the lines between right and wrong are blurred in a manner that's unusual for films of this sort, where you've usually got a demonstrably evil or amoral antagonist squaring up against the heroes.
