I knew Fant4stic would be vindicated one day. I'll go one step further than saying that the film isn't bad. There are genuinely great aspects of the film, including Tranks, nihilistic take on Doctor Doom. The third act is what sinks it for me. It was devised (and probably written) by a studio executive. Spectacular miscalculations on audiences' tolerance for diversity and behind-the-scenes turmoil are what Fant4stic will always be remembered for, unfortunately. And wasn't it Kinberg that did it? From what I'm seeing, Trank really didn't have an ending (or maybe one they didn't like) and they pretty much did a Snyder on him. Pushing him out.

It made the two earlier movies look like masterpieces in comparison. the two earlier films are more like MCU films, I think they were mcu before mcu. the only difference is it took a shorter time to get the message they are are generic movies. mcu took longer because people were to swayed by the cinematic thing.

I'm not sure who wrote it, but it certainly feels like it was done by committee or someone trying to make the safest choices possible. The last act is reminiscent of what you might see on Saturday morning cartoons - complete with a hokey ending where the team stares out into nowhere, congratulating themselves on a job well done.
