Actually Korean and Taiwanese baseball are the first sports pro leagues to use carboard cutouts of people a few weeks before German Bundesliga included them.

Yeah baseball in S. Korea and Taiwan opened their seasons at the beggining of May when all sports leagues around the world were still shut down.

They've been doing that on The Amazing World of Gumball for years.

Been watching Australian Rugby before work when it is on (usually Thursdays and Friday). They also have cardboard cutouts of fans.

Why not Zoom cameras - let us sit in the stands from our homes.

That's understandable. South Korea has a massive problems with misogyny, upskirt pictures (captured against womens' wills with the use of south-east Asian high technology), eroticised drug paraphernalia etc.

Agreed.
In the one Bundesliga game that I watched (pretty much their first game back), they added crowd noise when Dortmund scored.
And, watching the Australian Rugby this morning, there were actual fans in the seats. There weren't a lot of fans, mind you. And, it looks as though social distancing was monitored and respected. There were some groups together, so I'm thinking they were families.
