Very concerning how it's been a pattern we'll have a lead for a majority of the game. Then in the closing minutes we fall apart.
Pacers - 46 4th Q points Spurs - 40 4th Q points thus far
This is something we're going to have to work on in the next 6 games folks

You know, fam, I was worried about us. But after we beat the 29-36 Spurs on a last second 3, I don't know, don't you just get a feeling we're destined for big things?
I mean, the Spurs were an NBA team, and we beat them!

A game winning 3.
Think about what this will do for this kid's confidence.
Finished with 16 pts - 2 of 4 shooting from 3.
Wouldn't be surprised if Shake dropped 20 in the next game.
Next up - we've got the scrappy Washington Wizards and the deadly sharp shooting Bradley Beal - Weds 4pm (est)

This is something we're going to have to work on in the next 6 games folks That’s coaching. Brett might not be the guy to lead them to the promised land.

It's maddening.
I agree it's coaching to an extent - all the late game collapses - but we need the players to step up and take charge - i.e. it's got to be Embiid that states we're not going to allow this to happen again. Show some heart.
Seems like every time Joel goes off the court - like the Toronto series last year - that's when the other team makes a run. Horford - a -26 vs. the Pacers was surprisingly a +17 last night.
Ben has played shockingly bad defense these past two games. He was on TJ Warren for the most part vs. the Pacers and was on DeRozan a lot last night even though he was in foul trouble the whole game.
I'm completely over J-Rich. He is nothing that came as advertised - i.e. a younger version of Jimmy Butler. A Sixers beat writer wrote a great piece on him this morning. He seems to think it's the Josh Richardson show. He is atrocious at handling the ball, his above average defense is not exactly above average and he never shies away from shooting even when he's ice cold. He should not be getting the third most shot attempts on this team behind Joel and Tobias.
That being said - their offense is looking decent - just have to worry about the defense and holding onto double digit leads in the 2nd half.

I'm also concerned with Ben's lack of shooting. In Scrimmage #1 - we saw exactly what I predicted. He attempted 2 3s. He hit one of them. Since then - he has attempted '0'. 4 games and '0' attempts.
** notice I said 'concerned' - not panicking

This could derail our title hopes - lets hope its not too serious.

He's day to day.
He's coming back off of that horrific pinched nerve in his back that sidelined him at the end of the season.
He's getting he's feet back under him to and extent and playing a new role at Point Forward.
He's almost averages a Triple Double and is a great defender (although he hasn't defended well over the past 2 games) - his vision, ball handling, assists, rebounding and yes Points would be missed - you don't take all of that away from a team and expect them to be better - he's a generational talent.
Just finding his way in a new role coming off a back injury that derailed him and now has suffered this little set back by tweaking his knee.
I love how Shake has stepped up - especially after putting up a goose egg in the first game and getting in a fight with Jo-Jo.
This kid has spunk I tell ya.

Easy there, they didn’t beat the 86 Celtics yesterday.

Easy there, they didn’t beat the 86 Celtics yesterday. I'm incredibly impressed with Embiid.
If he's in the proper mindset/healthy - I think he can put the team on his back and take them to a title.
You watch him play - he can literally do anything he wants to do out there - he's that dominant.
This is what Shaq was criticizing him for earlier on in the year - if you want to be that guy - you can.
It's like watching Hakeem to an extent - but The Dream didn't have a 3 point shot which Jo-Jo does (not saying I love him going 2-6 from beyond the arc - but we've seen him over the years pop threes on a regular basis pretty much every single game - he's got it all)

Centers didn't take threes back then.

Centers didn't take threes back then. You're right - it's a much more athletic league now with vastly superior athletes.
Long gone are the days of 'The Chief' - a wooden Indian who would hang around the paint and rack up points from 2 feet away from the basket

Long gone are the days of 'The Chief' - a wooden Indian who would hang around the paint and rack up points from 2 feet away from the basket Parish was a great mid-range shooter. You should watch some vintage stuff, you'd gain perspective as well as appreciation for the history of the game. You'd be much less likely to compare mediocre talents to a combination of every top five player in history. Also, of course today's players are more athletic on average than previous decades, but shooting threes doesn't take athleticism. The style of play and strategy in basketball has undergone a sea change in the last ten years. And I'd still take the Dream Team (and that includes a Bird who couldn't even move anymore, and a useless Laettner) over the twelve best players of today.

Embiid mid range jumper > Parrish mid range jumper.
Embiid's droppin' buckets all over the court.
3s, top of key, baseline jumpers.
Check up Jo-Jo's 'Dream Shake' as he makes LeBron out to be a complete and total oaf -
Joel takes LeBron's jockstrap and blows his nose with it -

Also - Yes - the Dream Team was an impressive bunch However today's guys destroy them - 7 game series it's a 4-0 sweep
Keep in mind we've moved into positionless ball too - a lot of these guys can play multiple positions - I can't say the same about yesterday's dinosaurs -
Steph (Dame backs him up) Harden (Klay, Beal) KD (or we throw The Greek Freak in there, Kawhi) LeBron (you can put him anywhere on the court - Anthony Davis backs him up) Embiid (Joker backs him up) That is friggin' scary.
And I'm just spit ballin' here with the above
They'd put up 200 on Laettner, Larry and Co.
