Yeah, but I tried to tell my smart, knowledgeable friend that last year and he was too unsmart and unknowledgeable to recognize the facts I was presenting from the fiction in his mind. Kinda like this current argument you are having about the dream team in which you are so incredibly wrong but you don't realize it. Hmm, you seem to have a lot in common with my friend from last year. He sounds like a snappy dresser.
Bet he's a hit with the ladies too.
He probably could be both if he didn't drink himself into a stupor most nights and maintain untenable arguments. |

You're obviously not going to outrun us.
We're a team of agile lightning quick deer with strength.
So your only hope is to play a halfcourt game to slow us down and hope to outshoot us while slowing down the game.
So who are your outside shooters? Bird, Mullin and Drexler to an extent along with MJ?
The issue of quickness comes up again defensively - as we'll quickly close out and harrass all of your shooters on the perimeter with our elite wings. We're hybrid transformers/terminators that can do everything - your squad is your old school '1', '2', '3', '4', '5' dinosaurs who play PG, SG, SF, PF, and C - we have players that are 'positionless' all over our team.
It's like comparing a sports car of today to 30 years ago. A jet of today vs. 30 years ago. Times change and evolve - the world becomes quicker, faster, stronger.
The thing that everybody doesn't get when talking about The Dream Team - they had '0' competition because yes they were the best of the best - but they never had to face a squad like we're talking about now. They beat nobodies. Tomato cans. It's like a boxer people glow about for being dominant but you question did they ever beat anybody noteworthy?
What are you talking about? The Dream Team would run with anyone. And they don't have old school positions. Pippen could guard all five positions, the quintessential point forward. He ran the offense during MJ's (suspension) first retirement. Barkley played PF at 6'6", and could score from anywhere on the court. Your 'positionless' players could all be guarded by Jordan because none of them are bruisers. Ewing and Robinson weren't plodding stiffs, they were physical specimens who could score from midrange and handle the ball pretty well. Neither of them is as 'athletic' as Giannis, but both of them could stop him from scoring. Nobody compares the Dream Team to their competition, they marvel at the combined talent on that team. It's a dumb analogy. Collectively those guys beat everyone. Pippen is the player he so desperately wished Ben Simmons could be, but probably never will be.
