When I was a little girl, maybe around the age of 8 or so, there was a girl in my school who was deaf. She was able to read lips but also signed along the way simultaneously. I asked my mother for a book on sign language so I could try to communicate with her, but at least at that time, all I learned were letters. I don't recall any movements for words.
Also learning from a book isn't the same as learning from a person because you can't get the "feeling" of the movement. A book doesn't provide that. Even watching YT videos, there's no chance of "advancement"...or feedback. I'd like the structure and review of a class.
