She really put Pigeon Forge on the map.

If you're planning on visiting Smokey Mountain National Park, it's best to enter from the east, or avoid going through Pigeon Forge if traveling from the west. The congestion from traffic makes taking that route inadvisable.

I had tickets to see Dolly Parton at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood in April, but covid put a stop to that. Seriously bummed about it.
Hopefully she comes back after all this is over, but who knows? I was really looking forward to seeing her live in concert.

Yep, I was about to go in complete country and western mode this spring. I had tickets to see Dolly, Marty Stuart, and Ricky Skaggs. All 3 shows were canceled. Marty Stuart has rescheduled for October, hopefully that happens, but I'm not holding my breath.

I've been listening to Ricky Skaggs for many years now. He's on so many great records and I really like him as a person.
I posted here about Connie Smith the other day, who's worked with Marty Stuart since the 1990s.

Have you had a chance to check out the Ken Burns documentary about country music? It was fantastic.

Well worth checking out.

If you see Marty Stuart in October, maybe Connie Smith will join him for a number or two.

It's a great story about how they met. When Marty Stuart was like 11, he saw Connie Smith perform at a county fair. He got his picture taken with her, and decided that day that he was gonna marry her. Many years later, he did just that.

Then she met Mr. Stuart, and the rest, as they say, is ancient history.
